dreamcast ran on windows ce os (or really close to it)
which means you can run mame on it

all the rom games that come with mame will work on a dreamcast
i still have mine because of that one reason alone.

shwsrvcs 06-02-2009 06:45 PM

I have a dreamcast. what do you have to do to run MAME on it? I also have MAME and 1820 Roms. I would love to start using that.

shwsrvcs 06-02-2009 06:54 PM

actually. I found this and maybe this might work...

I'm going to burn this and see if I can play me some MAME on my Dreamcast tonight.

If your doing something else to play your MAME let me know.

I remember when I first bought my Dreamcast. That was the shit playing copied games on them back in the day. One of the best NFL games ever was on the Dreamcast.

shwsrvcs 06-02-2009 07:04 PM

The freethrows on the the NBA game is still the best. There are the two gun like triggers on the controller that you have to line up on the basket before you shoot. Very cool.

If you know where I can buy or D/L some old Dreamcast games then I would sure as hell buy it. I would buy the original games if they were still around, but I know me and my friends always swapped games and copied them. Ahhh the good old days of being young and careless. :winkwink:

I've had every single console released apart from an Xbox. I still have my dreamcast kicking around somewhere. I didnt play it much tho, I loved Goldeneye on the N64.

voa 06-03-2009 05:11 AM

LOoking good man , have a nice time playing on that

candyflip 06-03-2009 08:01 AM

Someone had them a few week back for quite a bit less. Even though we have a few used ones, I picked one up jut to hold on to.

I've got original unopened versions of the NES, SNES, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation and XBox.

I loved Sewer Shark. I have an old Sega CD, but don't know that it works at this point. I got rid of my last Genesis a while back and can't test it.

Scott McD 06-03-2009 09:38 AM

I actually liked the Dreamcast. Had some solid games on it.

I was always a fan of Daytone USA in the arcade, so when it got released on Dreamcast i was in heaven (the Saturn version sucked).

candyflip 06-03-2009 09:55 AM

My girlfriend at the time and I had two of them and we each put a few hundred hours into Phantasy Star Online when that came out.

I'm just picked up the newest version of it up for PSP.

HorseShit 06-03-2009 10:03 AM
