HELP, Need advice about domains
 

Ok, I need some advice. So I previousely posted that I had a few domains I wanted to sell, and i was talking about my adult domains, but i have some mainstream ones too. Anyway, Coincidentally, Some guy approaches me about a domain I own as follows:

Now, I don't want to give him a ridiculous price that he just say's "NO" and walks away, but at the same time, I'd like to get as much as I can.

How much should I tell him it's worth? Any advice is appeciated.

Common problem,

but it's always better to make your own prices for the domains.

The moment you get too greedy, it's done.

Figure out a price that you would be happy with letting it go, and one that you think he will appreciate too. Don't go over the top with it.

The plot thickens....I googled the company name and a foreign message board comes up showing that someone got exactly the same email...so either these guys are buying up domains, or it's a fake and some sort of scam.

Εμένα το domain μου αρέσει αν και θα συμφωνήσω με την άποψη του Νίκου στο twitter οτι δεν είναι τόσο brandable γιατί υπάρχουν αρκετά typos...Αλλά για μεταπώληση θα το σπρώξεις εύκολα πιστεύω.

Πολύ πιθανόν να σου πει να αγοράσεις ένα appraisal πριν στο "αγοράσει" το domain - άρα κάποιο Scam.


I notice the English word "scam" at the end and now i'm freaked out...Can anyone translate this?

sounds like a bs email to me.

That's a typical format for a scam email. I can almost guarantee that once you name your price they will insist that you get an appraisal from one of the companies they list. They have no intention of buying your domains.

WOW! Thanks Claire. Figures. After I re-read it, I became suspicious because of the
"Good domains are wise investment in the future." it just sounds like the broken english all eastern European scammers use.

P.S. If you want a crack at selling them, let me know, I sent you an email yesterday.

scam or not, it's a typical mass email, they didn't even look at your domain name... it's unlikely they will buy it unless you give them a steal...

Im currently advising anyone with domains for sale to check out and submit to this months Cybernet Expo auction...that way you get great exposure and its a lot safer ....
