I'm still a big believer that people will pay for quality, but the whole tube issue couldn't of come at a worse time. With the down economy, Im willing to bet that a lot of people are relying on tube sites for their fap material so they can avoid a $35/mo+ charge.

Since it appears that most tube sites are banking from dating sites and pushing cams, my guess is one of two things will happen... either tubes sites will crumble with the cost that is involved with bandwidth and the ever so tanking conversion rate of dating sites, but that is probably 3-5 years down the road.

Second guess is that a large amount of these tube sites are own by programs themselves, so once they get your email addy, they just spam the hell out of you until you pay for a membership with 400 prechecked cross sales :winkwink:

Honestly tho, here is my :2 cents:... there is only so much content on tube sites for niches. A lot of my sales from are still strong from niche sites I push, but general hardcore sites have been on the drop for over 3 years now. I really only push those sites just to filter traffic into my niche sites.

I think its a case of history repeating itself here with the advent of TGP/MGPs coming out. Hell, you could download all 4 video clips and have yourself a nice 2 minute wanking period on repeat. Now you can download a full 30 minute video, but how many times can you beat off to the same 30 minute video which is probably made up of the first 1/2 she is talking and doing a strip tease?

One thing i would be curious to know is the amount of churn for "general" sites over the past 2 years. My guess is its probably down, meaning members stay on longer. Why? because those people looking to pay $3 or $5 for a 2 day pass to try and download all the material, are now doing it for free.

For the people who say "dont concern yourself with this and that Tube sites have shitty quality" , yah they do for now for the most part .... However, It wont be long before they do start improving their quality, it's all about competition / traffic. Better quality new and existing tube sites will start evolving and popping up soon . Not to freak some of you out even more, So there is some more food for thought .

And where are they going to get the money to pay for the bandwidth of these better quality videos?

I agree completely about the niche stuff. If there's a fetish that's not catered for on the tube sites then the surfers will have to look elsewhere for their kink.

Honestly, I think we've hit an equilibrium and the tube sites have done all the damage they are going to do. The people that are still buying porn will pretty much keep buying no matter what comes out on the tubes for the foreseeable future.

Everyone and their mother knows about the tubes and how to get free porn so it's as bad as it's going to get. I know old guys who have no idea what facebook or twitter is yet they can name all the big tube sites and which ones have what kinds of scenes. So everyone knows about it, the cat is out of the bag, and if you can grow in 2009, you'll do fine.

For me, the tubes are a non-issue. The damage is done so now it's time to get back to business, it doesn't matter if 500 thousand new tubes open tomorrow.

java based solution that streams a torrent file.

peers provide the bandwidth.
put a webseed on the torrent an the cost of streaming the file to 10,000 people would be same as streaming it to one person.

You know what, I'm setting up 5 of my machines to download their movies non-spot at night.

Let's see if I can do at least SOME bandwidth damage.
