Well, she thought she could get away with anything she wanted because of her age, she pushed the matter. If she was 30 and acted the exact same way, she'd have gotten the same treatment.

Actually she got off easy. If she was younger I bet she would have been treated much more harshly. The cop did a fine job she was acting like a complete idiot.

I saw this last night. she reported to the news and everything that she was harassed and unfairly treated. once the police video was released she quickly shut up and didn't say another word

Simple rule with cops. Don't resist and be as nice as possible. Even if they still act like dicks don't take it personally. Realize they deal with assholes everyday and sometimes that makes them assholes. If you resist arrest 99% of the time you get what is coming to you. Just because you are in your 70's doesn't mean you are above the law.

Which is why they have those cameras... it's there to protect the cops just as much, or more than the people.

Actually it was the better option. It would have been a lot easier for him to hurt her by grabing her arm and attempting to get it behind her back. He used Pain Compliance.

I have no idea what she said in the car.. But I do know for a fact, you do not have to sign a ticket. You have the right to refuse because you don't agree.....

And he never "asked" her to step away from the road.. he yelled from the start... he pushed her, before he asked... So the entire end situation happened because the cops ego got in the way..

Cops are the people that should be professional.. If you don't think you did wrong and you want to speak your mind, if you don't want to sign the ticket.. THATS YOUR RIGHT...

Abuse of power. The lady was never a thread to the cop. He could have handcuffed her very simply if he wanted to arrest her.

"What Ifs" have to be looked at in situations. Thats how people learn going forward. A taser has 50,000+ Volts. If the woman (as stupid as she was acting) had a bad/weak heart it could have done damage.

Could the officer had done things differently. Perhaps negotiated a bit more before asking her to get out on a busy highway and letting things escalate over a speeding ticket. He certainly lacks the skills to diffuse an ornery old lady I would hate to see him pull up on some thugs.

Ya in situations like car safety, it is all these bullshit what ifs that are taking away peoples freedoms with bullshit regulations. IF she had a weak heart, IF she was a horse, IF she was an alien. like get over it already, granny caused shit and got zapped.

I think he made the right choice. If he tried to cuff her with her fighting him would have lead to more injuries.

At the end of the day she had no injuries. Thats pretty impressive. If it were LA, she would have taken an ass whooping before the cuffs went on.

It appears she asked her out of the car because she wouldn't sign the ticket.. that got granny mad.. prob why she said fine, I will sign the damn ticket...

At that moment he started to yell, to an extreme.. and then pushed her. Even though they were in danger.. It's ONLY after that point she took it to far.

The fact he had to taser her, is totally his fault.. His job is to contain the situation first, NOT use excessive force on someone that is of no threat, no danger, was calming down, had backed away..

You missed something. The cop tazed her on a "what if.... we fall into traffic" that seems to be the biggest bullshit part of the story.

Send that cop out to afghanistan because he's obviously raring for it. Seriously people have died from tazor shots 30 years younger than her. The point was, HE shouldn't have taken that far.. it shouldn't have ever gotten to the point he had to pull the taser out. The point at the street when she wouldn't back off, he should stepped off the street himself.. he could have walked her to the other side of his car.. all he had to do, was turn and walk and she WOULD have followed.
