You should ask the feed company you're using.

Feeds are intended especially to be grabbed. If you don't want this happen, just disable your feeds. That's it.

Martin 06-15-2009 07:52 AM

Ahh he's talking about RSS feeds. I always get that mixed up.

Martin 06-15-2009 07:57 AM

Hey dude, get in touch with me. I'll help you out if you want to use better feeds.

Mutt 06-15-2009 09:52 AM

that's your feed provider's fault not yours - if they haven't secured their feeds from spoofers that's incredibly stupid.

Not necessarily. It could also be a site password issue as well. You can't blame the feed providers for that. If the feeds are in fact being spoofed, then yes, it's the providers fault. Last I was aware, PIF was well ahead of the curve in that regard though.

i remember using spoofing software years and years ago - you'd put in the TARGET URL and the REFER URL and voila - free plugin porn.

Oh for sure it absolutely works. I've seen it REALLY bad. But I'm saying that PIF had a key system where once that link was clicked more than once or twice from OUTSIDE the members area, the link would be denied because it wouldn't recognize the referrer. Or something like that. It's been a while lol. So unless you had some sort of autorenewing spoof link, you weren't going to spoof the PIF feeds for very long. That's also not to say that the spoofers haven't caught up with the PIF security either. But they were always on top of that.
