Google adwords worth it?

How much $ do you really need to spend to see results with adwords?

Nicky 06-15-2009 08:49 AM

How long is a piece of string?

You can spend 5c and get a $100 sale. You can spend $100 and not get anything. So the answer is really up to yourself.

Try it and hope to find good keywords that provide a + ROI.

Good luck!

Unless you know what you are doing, you will get burned badly... It's not as easy as it seems, you will be competing with people that have been doing it for years, they know all the tricks, all the best strategies, etc, you don't... :2 cents:

At the same time you gotta start somewhere. Just be on the safe side that you will lose a nice chunk of change before you find some keywords and landing pages that will give you a decent ROI.

RadicalSights 06-15-2009 12:38 PM

It doesn't seem like it would be very hard to pick the right keywords. I mean if you are selling car tires for example -- then why wouldn't the words "car tires" get you plenty of targeted clicks?

I think hes talking about using it for adult.

I can tell you it is a LOT tougher now that it was 3-5 years ago and getting worse. My ROI was about 5:1 3 years ago and last year was still a nice 2.5:1. more and more people are using adwords which is driving up the costs.

I have a number of campaigns that were making bank last year that I am barely breaking even on now.

OP - If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up. I have some free credits with AdWords for new clients that I may be able to get you one.

Yep. But how about you sell Car tires to Car owners and truck tires to truck owners.

I have an F150 Sport that has a special tire. Get the idea?

Yes, but "Car Tires" costs $2.00 a click, and has terrible conversion rates, and I'm not sure why anyone buys that.. where as "Car Tires for a 1997 camry" costs $0.20 and has a very high conversion but only a bit of traffic. You can't just load Google up with 100,000 words or your quality score drops and people with better quality by cheaper than you...

yeah, you gotta start somewhere.

(and what pornguy said... seemed to beat me to it) ;)

when it comes to PPC..... luck has nothing to do with it..........

Horny Joe 06-15-2009 01:29 PM

I got about $150 worth of free ads from google. I have set the CPC very low, since it is my first time on adwords. Now I have a request, if someone wants to share. Right now I have a webcam campaign, but would also try dating. I guess google wont let be use my referral link so can anyone show me a "Homemade" page that I can have look at to see how it could be? Just if anyone wants to share, of course!

if you submit keywords that are not searched often enough, they don't even get approved (yes, this is true)

i got 50$ free, will test dating

camperjohn64 06-15-2009 03:27 PM

Forget Adwords. SELL traffic to Adsense and make money. Adwords is too hard to compete, but Adsense is the other end of the competion - let them pay you.

halfpint 06-15-2009 03:32 PM

Before I got into adult I used to have a ringtone site I spent over £250 (+-$500) on google adwords and made about $20.00 back..Why.. because I did not know wtf I was doing

Seriously dont make the same mistake that I did and waste your money..read and read and read some more before you throw your money away :2 cents:

Sure.

Also they say that "less is more" when it comes to advertising, and a landing page with an unique selling proposition (the strong reason why the customer would want to buy the product), a call to action and a descriptive image is just the right type of landing page.

dirtymind 06-15-2009 04:22 PM

well i just had my offer from google to try adwords. they gave me a 100 euro and after i did some more research i will try my hand on this one. I will do it for a pay site i own. Would it be smart to make another extra landing page for this one. I was thinking about something like text a little graphic, make sure it loading fast and a large hd video player. What do you think. I just want to show what the site is really a bout with a hight quality trailer.

frankie_gunn 06-15-2009 04:33 PM

Of course everybody has his own personal touch, but the main idea is that we need to entice the customer to click, and to do that as quickly as possible.
