how much do/would you pay for php programmer
 

Of course there are different pricing in house and freelace. But whats lets say going rate on this forum? For how much do you hire guys here?

Not sure about other countries, but for a freelance programmer from the US who isn't a complete idiot need to figure at least $50/hr, for someone who is "good" and has experience more like $100+/hr

For fulltime in house work, figure about half that, so $25-$50+/hr or $50-$100+k/year...

I pay borked's going rate.

i pay flat fee, never paid per hour

A good off shore guy is $20/hr and a good US based guy is $80. Only go off shore if you know what you are doing. In my case i have been coding for 20 years so it work out well.

good php programmer can mean 100 different things

post projects he did, the time it took

For an ass in the seat in the office, probably start around 1500/wk and go up from there if he turns out to know wtf he's doing.

since you can't control what programmer is doing in that hour that you're paying $100 for,
it is much better is to pay the coders per project...
