Brett Favre a Viking!!!!!!!!!!

According to the local sports show here in Minneapolis they just said Favre signed with the vikes today.

Waiting to see NFL and ESPN get it on their sites.

I've always liked Brett Favre...I would have liked to see him retire though; he is way past his prime. It hurts to see him go out there and not consistently perform at a high level after what he has accomplished. He will have his days, but I think he will prove to us again this season with the Vikings that its time to move on.

Furious_Male 06-24-2009 11:00 AM

No surprise. The games vs. green bay will now be very interesting.

Robbie 06-24-2009 11:03 AM

Some of y'all must have not been following sports recently. Favre was just on HBO last week. He had to have surgery on his arm. Last season with the Jets he explained that he basically played injured the whole season. On the show he was rehabbing his arm and said that IF it looked like he would regain his ability to play up to the level he expected of himself that he was probably gonna play again and it was going to be for Minnesota.

Well, he didn't actually definitely say for Minnesota. But he had already went to their training camp and the coaches were working with him etc. So it wasn't a big surprise.

I always like to pull for the underdog. And if he can pull it off, it would be pretty cool.

I can't wait for Chicago to kick his ass all over the field for one more year... Great QB, past his prime, and going to take a beating by the Navy and Orange this year...plus doing all of this to stick it to GB... classy.

I know, they just mentioned it at the top of the hour news break again. Whats funny is Bretts agent is denying this. Who knows, could be another false Brett news report.

News agencies should get in trouble for making shit up. If this is false I'm gonna call into the show and tell them how i looked like a fool on GFY. More so than usual that is.....

Wow, another year of horrible mistakes for Farrrrvvaaaaaa.

smutnut 06-24-2009 02:13 PM

Brett only won a superbowl cause bill parcels was making a deal to coach the jets during the entire game! Then he was an even worse actor on Something About Mary!

Tom Brady and Joe Montana and John Elway and Terry Bradshaw. Greatest Quarterbacks ever with the most Superbowls in the time span that counts.

They announced it on the Madison news. His agent is always the last one to know what Brett is actually doing.

I was hoping he'd become a viking.

This year is going to be great entertainment for NFL fans.

Only if he gets an external compound fracture like Joe Theisman did on nationally televised Monday night football. He's got a long way to go to meet that legacy :1orglaugh

CDSmith 06-24-2009 06:20 PM

The writing is definitely on the wall as to how this is going to go

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...s&confirm=true

If he starts for the Vikes there's going to be mad ratings.

Spunky 06-24-2009 09:24 PM

Geez, when will this guy go away already..retire while you have some dignity left

EthnicLover 06-24-2009 10:21 PM

In related news Jerry Rice has signed a one game contract with the Cowboys and a giant groan could be heard emanating from Wisconsin.

Last i checked Vikings WR group was scrub city. So who is he going to throw too?

LiveDose 06-24-2009 10:35 PM

Someone give this guy his own reality show... He's turning himself into a joke.

Socks 06-24-2009 10:41 PM

In 10 years, we won't remember his last year no matter which it is. We'll remember he was a great quarterback who lasted forever.

Was Wayne Gretzky tarnished by the LA Kings or NY Rangers?

That's not how we remember him.

If he wants to play and someone will give him a job, good for him.

OMG I have to have this shirt! I bought tickets to the Packer vs. Vikes! Would do my heart good to see him carted off the field at Lambeau!

JohnnyV_MaxCash 06-25-2009 07:10 AM

The Man has nothing to gain and his reputation to lose. I could understand not wanting to leave the game, but football is a young mans game, and bouncing around the league at the end of your career simply looks sad. He should have gone out as a Packer, as a hero, with his head held high and his reputation intact. Now he looks like a train wreck waiting to happen.

I am a fan of Brett Farve, I remember his coming into the league, and I will hope he does well. He could be and should be making better choices.

It's all about his pride. The Packers said we don't want you anymore and that hurt his pride. If he is able to beat the Packers this year and wins the division that will be a big FUCK YOU to Packer management and he will get his pride back. :2 cents:

Jman 06-25-2009 01:28 PM

1 more year and we can get him in the NFL ;-)

CDSmith 06-25-2009 01:47 PM

HAHAHAHAHAHAA :1orglaugh :thumbsup

BruceM 06-25-2009 05:50 PM

What a douchebag

slapass 06-25-2009 05:56 PM

If we still had Dennis Green, it might be cool. He wass great at getting an awesome year out of some old guy.

GatorB 06-25-2009 05:58 PM

Are you sure he isn't dead?

ahoy 06-25-2009 06:50 PM

As a Vikings fan, I really don't know how I feel about this move. We need a young guy to come in and be able to build up. Whatever happened to Booty? Haven't even seen what this kid can do yet. I have a good feeling Sage will be nothing but an average QB at best in his career. I would like to personally smack Childress for bringing in Tarvaris, not a fan of that type of QB and don't think he is a good fit for this offense. I guess as long as they bring Favre and make him earn his spot it cant hurt.

Poppy 06-25-2009 08:50 PM

Retire Brett Favre. Time to head to pasture. You've had a great career.

VeriSexy 06-26-2009 12:53 AM

Meh... He should have retired as a packer

hypedough 06-26-2009 01:06 AM

Any link yet dude?!?

Booty was crap when I saw him at camp last year, limpdick arm, always winded and not mentally up to speed. This year I'm hearing far better things from minicamp, like he's truly memorized the playbook and is mobile and taking charge. Not surprising that he's catching on since he did win a rose bowl and had a way better wonderlic than TJack. Tjack on the other hand had to drop out of division 1 since he couldn't cut it at school. :helpme Rosencopter will be a better backup than Tjoke IMHO. If Favre can stay healthy, the Vikings are back in the playoffs and AP won't have to carry ALL of the load this time.
