Let's see - we've lost more rights, lost $880 billion. Yeah, he's certainly brought change.

Not true, I followed him during his Senate run, watching his win there and knew of him well before the election.

Martin 06-24-2009 11:53 AM

You're one of the very few then Brad. Did you were a Obama pin "Yes we can" too? lol:winkwink:

art914 06-24-2009 11:55 AM

you know the way our system works (congress) it's almost impossible to make drastic change to the system

for example reforming healthcare?

most democrats refuse to vote for the bill unless there's a public healthcare in it

most republicans refuse to sign it if there's a public health care

so you're kinda stuck.

What rights you speak of have been lost under the Obama administration?

czarina 06-24-2009 12:01 PM

I'm a little disappointed to tell you the truth, but hell, he's been much better than Bush so I wont complain

As much as I am not a fan of Obama he was pretty well known from 2004 when he spoke at the democratic convention and touted as the new "golden boy". That is when he started getting inertia and well known.

Okay, I understand this, but he did move up the ranks pretty fast is what I was getting at.
:2 cents:

Also the general us population had no idea who he was till he was running.

as a Canadian why wouldn't you be an Obama admirer? Obama's plans are to turn the US pretty much into what Canada is. Are you not a proud Canadian? You don't like national healthcare? Higher taxation for the wealthy? etc etc

flashfire 06-24-2009 12:26 PM

to be fair its hard to make up for 8 years of stupidity in a few months

He has no chance of doing that in the US. I believe that all the health care talk is just another distraction.
