Shaq Officially Traded To The Lebrons

well that would be a dream final - Lebron and Shaq vs Kobe

Shaq is a shadow of his former self but he's a big upgrade for the Cavs - they won't play him much during the season, they just need him to be there for meaningful minutes in the playoffs.

NaughtyRob 06-24-2009 10:50 PM

Yeah heard about it. Shaq is done, not a great move for the Lebron's.

EthnicLover 06-24-2009 10:53 PM

Holy shit. Big news.

If Shaq can keep playing at a high level the Cavs may be in the finals. Hopefully better than the punk ass Magic.

Socks 06-24-2009 10:54 PM

I would hate to be the rim next year.

I doubt they will play him much, but definitely use the hype to get in more fans.

sad, but i think a lot of pro sports care more about getting people in the door then actually winning games now

Actually now that I read through all of his "tweets" - shaq has the funniest/best twitter I've seen yet. I read them in his voice.

hypedough 06-25-2009 01:01 AM

I actually think Shaq will fit in well with the Cavs, he could be the missing piece for LeBron's quest for championship.

Rodent 06-25-2009 01:08 AM

They will play him enough to keep him in rhythm with not many minutes so come playoff time he can try and be his old self, and I bet shaq is up to the challenge.

lazycash 06-25-2009 01:26 AM

Feeling better already about not renewing my Suns season tickets. Let the rebuilding begin.

Next they trade Nash and or Stat

Zuzana Designs 06-25-2009 03:27 AM

HELL YEA. That kicks ass! The Lebrons will win the finals for sure!

JohnnyV_MaxCash 06-25-2009 05:58 AM

I had the opportunity to hang out with Shaq on many different occasions at a night club I operated in Los Angeles called Duet. Almost every team that came to L.A. to play the Lakers came to this club, and the Lakers did on off nights.

Shaq is a true Gentleman, and a very hard worker. While he is not in his prime by any measure, he is in great shape, remains uninjured, and will contribute significantly to the LeBrons. He also understands his role as he did in L.A., but LeBRon is not a whiny needy baby like my Man Kobe. All in all massive ups for the Cavs he is a great pick up!

Oh yeah, Shaq used to drive (himself) in a huge Mercedes with a Superman liscense plate that two valet drivers had to park. One to steer and one to get on the floor and press the pedles. Damn funniest thing you ever saw.

Good move for the Cavs I think. Ben Wallace wasn't much for em anyways and the other guy whoop dee doo

V_RocKs 06-25-2009 07:12 AM

Shaq = Big Head
Lebron = Bigger Head

Coach = Teacher in 3rd Grade

Team = Disarray

justinsain 06-25-2009 07:19 AM

When Shaq was here in Orlando I'd often see him driving around town in his outrageous rides. They all had the " S plate " on them. I remember once catching him from behind as he drove his Pearl Mercedes 500 AMG convertible and his head was up above the windshield. I pulled up beside him and gave one of those head nods and he flashed a big smile as I drove on by. That guy really likes to have fun no matter what he's doing and I can't wait until he retires back here in Orlando and begins his career in law enforcement :winkwink:

Also, it's gonna take more than Shaq for the Lebrons to get past the Magic next season.

tiger 06-25-2009 09:05 AM

Great move for the Cavs.
Spurs made a big move as well getting Jefferson.

Basketball is looking real good next year.

It was just a salary dump for the Suns who were gonna be over the cap significantly this year and didn't want to pay the steep penalty especially for a rebuilding year. They'll most likely try to buy out Wallace so he can retire and may cut Pavlovic because only 1.5 mil of his salary is guaranteed. I was hoping they'd just keep Nash and Shaq for their final year and then let their contracts expire so they'd have 35 mil for free agency next year.

gmr324 06-25-2009 10:01 AM

That should really help the inside/outside game for the Cavs. I mean the 7'3 center Ilgauskas doesn't have a post-up game and stands around at the perimeter. Plus, that should help keep Lebron in Cleveland for at least another year.

I like the lakers, I love Lebron :)

Snake Doctor 06-25-2009 10:11 AM

It can't hurt. Shaq isn't a locker room problem or anything, it's not like they brought Dennis Rodman to the team.

The Cavs (the Lebron's, that's funny) need to win a championship if they want to have any chance at keeping Lebron.

I was so pissed when Shaq left Orlando. That was a stupid ass contract they gave him as a rookie.

That team could have won alot of rings in Orlando.

I quit watching basketball from then until just last year, when the Hornets piqued my interest.

getmouthy 06-25-2009 10:21 AM

Shaq is a good guy, but I don't see him being any help to the Cavs.

voa 06-25-2009 11:20 AM

He is not the same...Not clever move from Cavs.

Got Porn? 06-25-2009 11:39 AM

For those of you who didn't see Shaq play last season he still has some gas left in his tank. Last year he played in 75 games averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds. When Shaq is happy with his team he is healthy, when he is not happy he does not play.

Titan 06-25-2009 12:08 PM

Shaq is looking worn down. Can he play meaningful minutes in the playoffs?

Strickie 06-25-2009 12:16 PM

Shaq's a burnout, glad to see him go.

stoner529 06-25-2009 12:22 PM

I will quote shaq on this one "just a big fish in another dried up little pond" go magic.

18 points, 8 rebounds avg... That's not too bad and would be considered a great center for most teams. Even being a fraction of what he used to be, Shaq is still a meaningful player.

I moved to Orlando the same year they first went to the finals. The whole town was basketball crazy and the entire downtown business sector was reaping the rewards. The Magic had built a super nice two story store for selling Magic merchandise in a prime spot downtown. The Magic's playoff run to the finals was bringing in millions of dollars to the city. Then they let Shaq get away. The excitement and money went away. That fancy Magic store went out of business and sat empty for years.

Shaq wanted what he was worth and the Magic said he wasn't worth it and the city turned against Shaq for wanting it. Shaq left the Magic and the city of Orlando soon found out that Shaq was worth every penny he said he was. It's taken Orlando about 13 years to get back on track.

I sincerely hope they've learned their lesson and treat Dwight Howard like gold and don't let him get away like they did Shaq and the few rings he would've got them.

MissMina 06-25-2009 02:57 PM

Shaq & LeBron against Kobe . LOL Will be interesting to see.

who 06-25-2009 02:59 PM

Who cares, Michael Jackson died!!!

Redmanthatcould 06-25-2009 03:01 PM

Hopefully after KG and the Celts take care of them next year, it'll put a chip on LeBron's shoulder. He might even decide to not resign with the Cav's...maybe if he ends up with a real coach, he'll learn not to be a one-dimensional player.

you should probably check shaqs stats for last season

2008-09 Statistics
PPG 17.8
RPG 8.40

These are better stats then most in there prime centers in the league. I've never seen anyone that is "Done" score 17, almost 18 a game in the NBA. with 8 rebounds. Most good players wont even do this in there career.
