What dya use for email campaigns?
 

to manage email lists and send out mass emails?

Currently using aweber, not too keen on the monthly fee and the way users have to verify they signed up to the mailing list.

collected over 1000 leads on craigs list and cant use them in aweber.

any suggestions/alternatives?

PHPlist is great and opensource. If you use it on a shared host you'll have to throttle it but it gets the job done. Plus it's free.

You cant just import users and mail them without them verifiying though can you?

I use PhpList and it's great. Does the job perfectly.

Cool, MailChimp looks so much better than what I was using for mainstream stuff in the past, Constant Contact :(

I can give a thumbs up to PHP list. Great free software and very easy to setup. I installed it for a friend of mine who runs a medical center and it works like a charm. Make sure to throttle your outgoing messages per hour so you don't get blacklisted.
