I am starting up a new mainstream venture and I wanted to let the GFY community in on it, in case it generates some serious interest in being a part of it (financial, marketing, sales, operations, etc). I have met so many people over the last 14 years in adult whether through the shows or those that have read my articles and postings, that I wanted to share with you this opportunity.

T3report.com is doing better as the economy gets worse, and its still my baby and continuing with the innovation and the operations, but I am also branching out to create this new venture that utilizes all my programming toys, marketing, and traffic tactics.

The venture will create "custom made dresses at rack prices". I have developed software that can resize a dress pattern to a woman's specific measurements, send it to a plotter, then a seamstress makes the dress, and its shipped to the customer.

Starting line is $125 (w/ free shipping).

Ask any woman about their shopping woes, and they will tell you that it is a challenge to find clothes that fit. Many women are one size on top and another size on the bottom, that doesn't match up to the hourglass shape that the Fashion Industry designs for. Pear-shaped women represent over 75% of the population.. hour glasses are around 8%.

A custom made dress can cost $350+.

There will be a woman's portal that launches concurrently with the online store that will foster a community. There will be writers to contribute articles about hair, makeup, fashion, health, food, etc. With the portal comes opportunities to sell other things, even porn (lol).

Its the "gimmick" of a custom made dress that will bring attention to the website, its the portal that will keep them around.

I designed the first dress, a simple little black dress, that will flatter a woman because it fits her curves.

Even if someone is more of an hourglass shape, having a long or short torso beyond the standard size throws things off, that's why so many dresses are high waisted (empire waist) because easier to fit more women, but the result is that it looks like they are pregnant.

I will have a very limited affiliate program that will pay $45 per customer. I know that word of mouth will spread this and women will find the website due to surveying 100+ women, all are waiting for the store to open and ready to tell their 10-20+ friends once they get their dress. There will be all kinds of fun marketing, from viral videos, social networks, SEO, buying traffic, affiliate traffic, runway shows, parties, and sponsorships.

The biz model is to open one or more factory/showroom in major cities. People can certainly buy from the website, but having a store means instant credibility when handing over the CC, and also allows for the idea that its not just made in the USA, its made locally. Lots of tie-ins to local marketing, charity events, etc.

I have personally invested $60K+ into this thing and the R&D stage is almost over.

While this is posted on an adult forum, we all know that almost everyone has a mainstream background, unless you were literally born into porn LOL, that everyone has some hook or angle that could plug into this venture. As I have shared this idea with people, I started to find out that some had fashion backgrounds themselves. Hrm. Not a bad idea. Have you worked out an international shipping solution? How do you lable them and where are they being made?


What are you looking for a $$/% thing or more?

two ways to handle that.. do international shipping and consumer pays for it (can get some good rates through US postal service), or, open up a factory in various cities, so that local workers are used and shipping would be local as well.

lots of seamstresses around the world, so the idea is to hire locally within a city.

right now, the focus is U.S... but definitely looking to expand internationally

I was telling Raja about this venture a few months ago.. after i finished, he paused for a second, and said, dude, this is how you are going to market it to guys like me:

i go shopping with my GF and i get stuck there holding her purse as she goes into try on a bunch of dresses. She might find one that fits. I want to buy her a gift certificate and give it to her.. i'll measure her, that would be fun, and then take her out to dinner when the dress arrives.

I think adult/porn traffic may work out for this venture, because a decent percentage of porn surfers have girlfriends or wives.. they just can't tell them how they found the website.. LOL

Very universal and yeah, definitely solves the "gift" problem because otherwise it's almost impossible to buy without trying out.

i have had many people ask me if i will do men's clothes.

my immediate answer is no... because on the whole, guys don't spend as much on their clothes. women on the other hand, buy clothes due to changes in season, changes in fashion , etc.

what i will come out later is custom t-shirts.

i read in some article that clint eastwood buys these $50+ tshirts.. simple black tshirt, but the arm sleeve cuts right at his abs...

i have a tshirt like that.. i am by no means muscular, but the sleeve hits right at the bicep and is snug, that it makes you look/feel like you have some good definition.

plus i thought, instead of me wearing a dress to see how the fabric feels, i will just make a tshirt out of to try it on LOL.

I had one guy tell me that the fabrics that are available to menswear is very limiting, where women have lots of choices.

I recently found this silk jersey material that doesn't wrinkle.. and i thought it would make for a great high-end tshirt.

absolutely.. along with escorts and porn stars, they all suffer the same problem of finding clothes that fit... Its easy to use spandex, but then all of your clothes look porny...

Definitely would target all of the above niches, so they can wear "normal" looking clothes instead of porny looking clothes.

that would be something.. it might be able to work for capturing some measurements, but many others, would need to do the old fashion way of using a tape measure.

When this goes live, the woman would order a measuring kit that has a tape measure, rubber bands, and stickers. You can see this measuring kit in action in the pics that baddog posted.

Someone would measure the woman following my instructions and enter that into the website when ready to order.

Any guy who has never touched a measuring tape would be able to follow the measurement guide.

that's definitely a great idea. I have that exact problem: I have normal sized hips and butt but my boobs are too big for my size and I just can't find dresses that fit.

the common fashion mistake i see women make with your body shape is wear loose/baggy clothes. you have a waist line, show it off. having a bigger bust, does throw off your ability to find clothes in the standard sizing.

but with what i am doing, the dress is reshaped to fit your bust and bottom, while fitting your waist, so your natural curves will be highlighted.

given a scoop or vneck that shows of some cleavage and you will have alot of double-takes :)
