Should upgrade to NATS v4?

Did you upgrade, can you share your opinion about it?

Is there any thread about advantages vs desadvantages between NATS V3 and V4 on the borad?

Im also working on a new site:
www.myteenmaid.com (new distribution design <--- comment! )

Thanks!
aLe.-

I like the design.

if you run a small program, i say do it. as a program owner, you have a lot more flexibility with NATS4 than NATS3.

You design is breaking up in ie. Just a heads up. My opinion would be to add a little more to the header. It looks unfinished to me. That's just my opinion though :)

I would shorten the header up a little. you have a little to much space on top. Put the logo in the top left and get rid of all that space. Move the extractions up a little too. Getting the surfer to the content is the key. I don't think you need a promo video, as you have the content section right there if you made the header a little smaller height wise.
Then I would add a couple more extractions or even frame some pics into the header. I would ditch those pink flowers or what ever they are as well. They look a little out of place in the header and woun't help the site sell anything. I like them on the watch movie, but not in the header. It would just make it look nice and clean.

Nice tool.

For the programme owner, it's a lot better and less restrictive.

For the serious affiliate, it's a lot better because it's easier to see what's working. But also it's a lot more clicks to get to something.

For the programmer, it's a lot more flexible as many more variables are available, although there are a million more db tables

For the person that's skinning it, it's a nightmare as there's a million templates all in CSS

that's the time that nats becomes the killer app - when *all* bases are covered :winkwink::thumbsup

not necessarily "simple" as in dumbed down, but "simpler" as in something simpler ;) or some smarty debug telling what templates are being called on a page load. It's imposs atm because view page source annoyingly defaults back to the default page, nomatter where you are, so even html comments in the templates gives no pointers as to what templates are being called. Some smarty debug saying what templates called and in which order (say an ordered array of template calls) would be perfect (and not difficult...)

look forward to to the mod John

In newer versions of v4 there is a "DEBUG_TEMPLATES" config option under Configuration->Display which will turn on a trace of templates being used. This will place comments in the HTML source. I am not sure off hand what the minimum v4 version for this is, but it was added within the last couple of months.

The "simple" skin won't have a tremendously lesser amount of data, it will more be a "cleaner", less image heavy, skin. Hopefully those who aren't comfortable with the navigation of the current default skin will be much more comfortable with it.
