If a good client or friend would visit your city where would you take them for lunch?

For me the choice is pretty easy.

Schwartz SmokedMeat.

what about the tower in montreal that rotates?

most biz is done prior when you first meet so maybe have a couple corona's and get it done...

As long as they don't take pictures of you choking down some Montreal smoked beef what is the problem? It's just a sandwich. :)

There are rotating restaurants in almost every big city, I want to hear about something authentic to the city.

I'd drive up to San Jose and take 'em to Teskes. Fuck this town.

CYF 07-02-2009 05:41 PM

This is unique here in St Paul, MN:

http://www.mickeysdiningcar.com/

Featured in some movies, I guess it's pretty famous.

From the site:
Mickey's Diner has been featured on the Food Network series Unwrapped, Roker on the Road, Rachel Rays' Tasty Travels, and Alton Browns' Feasting on Asphalt. Mickey's has appeared in The Smithsonian, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, Easy Rider, Playboy and Elle magazines. Mickey's Dining Car has been replicated as a collectible by Department 56, The Danbury Mint and Saks Fifth Avenue. The Mighty Ducks I, II, III, Jingle All the Way and A Prairie Home Companion movies contain scenes that were shot on location at Mickey's.

there are over 120 restaurants and bars in Whistler (a resort town with a population of only 9600 people), but if you can only dine at one place, the decision is easy: http://www.rimrockwhistler.com/

Jman, there is a Portugese restaurant right next to Shwartz'. The pan fried sardines are out of this world, I rec it highly.

Jakke PNG 07-03-2009 09:28 AM

Hmm... In July? McDonalds. Everything else is fucking closed.. My wedding anniversary is on the 15th, and we always have hunt a restaurant that's open.. I'd say 75% of the restaurants are closed..

rhon23 07-03-2009 09:48 AM

There are two great places I love in hollywood. One is the 101 coffee shop on Franklin. The food is ok but the place is very punk rock and just has a great atmosphere. The other is El Compadre on Sunset across from the Guitar Center. Best food ever!

Hank_Heartland 07-03-2009 10:05 AM

Depends on what kind of food they are into...we have a great place no matter what one likes to eat:thumbsup

It is indeed a great place my friend but if you come back to Montreal I will take you to Braseiro, one of the best Portugese place I have been and it's like a hole in the wall.

Kiwigirl 07-03-2009 12:19 PM

Green Iguana.....cheap bar food but it's good. They have an awesome grilled shrimp and fish salad that comes with a yummy thai dressing.
