How many hits should u get daily to be in the top 100k sites?

I have a mainstream site that gets 70k raw and 60-65k unique daily and its only ranked in the top 400k on alexa is that right?

Are AWSTATS the best to go by?

hmm i have no idea but am happy with a site with 17,596 Alexa ranking :thumbsup

It should be way below 400k alexa ranking if it's doing 60-65k daily.

Something doesnt ad up.
A site doing 60-65k daily should be in the top30 already.

I have a site thats ranked 13-14k alexa. (For sale hah ;))

Your stats are wrong. I have a site doing 5k/day with better alexa ranking in the 300k range.

Not sure how many daily hits you need to get into the top 100k but if you click around the site, it may say somewhere on there. Or perhaps, someone else will post the answer here for you.

My awstats show that I am getting so many unique and so many raw hits per day, its saying I get over 55k unique lets just say that. And my alexa ranking is high 400k. I dont know how to fix this, or figure out what the problem is.

You should definitely be in the top 30,000 sites IF you had 55k uniques a day. I suggest you check your server stats and/or put google analytics on the site to determine what you're really getting. :)

Server stats are infinitely more accurate. Google analytics is always off by 20% or more.

but rather how often your site gets searched on alexa?

Google analytics will give you a third opinion of what your stats are ie who is right alexa or your server stats.

If everybody comes in the main door then that page is all you really need although you may be interested where else they go after etc.

If it's possible to bookmark a page inside and bypass your main page then you should include that (those) pages also if you want accurate figures. (this may also be why alexa is so different from your server stats)

Also alexa ranking is ranked by toolbar installs? So people who visit a site and have no alexa toolbar that hit doesn't count.

Alexa is based off users who have the Alexa toolbar installed. And it doesn't go by uniques, it goes by page views. That's why forums have high Alexa's even though they have low uniques.

A site with 100k visitors a day and 5 page views per user will have a higher Alexa than a site with 200k visitors a day and 2 page views per user.

whats the best traffic software to analyze where people go on your page when the enter in the main page. Also what software can I use to track how many hits I sent to banners on or related links from the main page and other pages throughout the site.

AWSTATS is always way off, counts every single hit as a unique.

Use google analytics, or if you don't like the idea of giving google data, Statcounter does a reasonable job.

Forgot, if you want to track banner clicks take a look at openx .

My rank is better but I get a fraction of the traffic you get. But they did change Alexa and they now take into account different things and combine them together to come up with the rank they give out. Backlinks might be one.
