Important for All Affiliates!

So I have noticed that some sponsor programs do not work with header redirects...

What I mean by this is if I directly link to a sponsor (with tracking codes) the user will end up on the target page with sponsor codes intact...

If you route the request through your own page, (e.g. link.php?link_id=3) which performs a header redirect so you can track it... the user ends up on a page without the tracking code and usually a different landing...

An example would be BCash4You...

I noticed a lot of people posting ridiculously low conversion rates for their sites. To the point where it isn't even feasible. These sites present VERY well and have very high end content. However when I header redirect they always end up on Watch4Beauty's homepage regardless of linking code and regardless of the site you're sending them to.

There are other sponsors which do this as well and this could definitely explain the abysmal conversion rates many of you have been experiencing.

For those reporting 300,000:0 rates are you routing the click through your own tracker first? If so you may not even be getting credit and at the very least they're not ending up on your target page...

This is the case for at least 4 different sponsor programs I've come across.

Note: this is a repost as nobody even read my last one on this topic (I guess the title wasn't provoking enough)

Ah ha! A commenter... I hope this thread gets some momentum as this is very important for all of us...

Really? Has nobody else noticed this or care? How many of your programs are you not getting proper credit for?

Some do it for security and antispam reasons. Keeps the spammers away

I think it's more likely that people are aware of such issues. But your post and heads-up is still good common sense standard link checking reminder. Some sponsors also dont allow frames and make no bones about it. It may be right in the TOS, and people tend to not actually read them and should.

When I started running my links through a local script like you say, I checked each one carefully. Maybe 5 or 6 yrs ago? Most were ok with it.

Unless they have a flat policy, maybe a quick message to a program representative would get you their preferred method, or special permission or something.
