I'm working from the train up to Edinburgh
Ah, you have to love a job that can travel. I am somewhere outside of Newcastle, England on my way up from London to Edinburgh. My hubby got sent on a last minute biz trip up here and his company said I could tag along. So, I am going to work from the hotel by day and go out around Edinburgh after work. Nice :)

Eva and I have just got back from the UK. Just before we went we bought a small laptop to look after things while we were away. Awesome, Eva was able to access the Net practically everywhere we went. Never tried it on a train to Edinburgh though. :)

I also visited Edinburgh (Old Smokey aka Auld Reekie)...very fun city - lots of arts and culture. :drinkup Be sure to check out The Witchery, for good eats and drinks. During our visit, the band Manfred Mann's Earth Band, was doing a photo shoot there. Great food, great ambience and amazing history! :thumbsup ADG |
that is nice...

Beautiful city. Bugger of a train trip though, or used to be, 8 hours the last time I went up there from London.
|
It is only four and a bit hours now from Kings Cross to Waverly and it is mostly coastal so it is even pretty to look at.

Lucky life.

What's your plans for Edinburgh? We're planning on going through for The Fringe for a comedy show, but not sure which one yet

We actually had our honeymoon up here nearly a year ago so it is kind of nice to be back up here nearly for the anniversary. I am not sure if we are doing anything in particular other than just enjoying the city. We like the cheesy horror-themed bar called Frankenstein. So, I am sure we will end up there for a bit. So, my question of the day is why when I was using the National Express rail's WiFi did google think I was in Sweden? |
Where I work ( in my day job ) I have to weekly commute of 750 miles a week, on two trains. It's an absolute bitch. However Virgin trains are kinda cool as you have power outlets on board to plug a laptop into !

i can see you =]

Sound good , enjoy in your time there

I noticed that they offer WIFI on the trains to and from Scotland when I visited last year, but the carriages are still shite (as the Scottish would say lol).
Now that I live in the UK, I signed up for mobile broadband yesterday and got a brand new shiny laptop 'for free' lol No more searching for hotspots, hurray! The whole of UK is now my office, just as well, considering that we are currently homeless whilst we look for one... |
Very lucky bro, congrats!

Lucky you :)
I go to Scotland every year, skipping this year but will be back next summer. |

We go to a slightly similar place reguarly in London..one of the Errie pubs. There is actually one in Edinburgh too. We went last time because it was the last of the Errie pub co chain that we need to have been to all of them in the UK. The one in Edinburgh is called Jekyll and Hyde. |
East coast mainline will be great when they at last get the new trains on there.
|
sounds as a nice trip, wish you a nice weekend.

Ooh nice :) i LOVE edinburgh :) lived there for a few years the place is buzzing when the fringe festival is on
