18 Million Dollars To....

redesign the recovery.org website. 9.5 million guaranteed to be spent and up to 18 million bucks.

This is the website that we can check to see how our stimulus money is being spent.

Just when you think those fuckers can't get more obscene they manage to raise the bar.

Spare change you can believe in...

It's all a big scam. I think republicans are misusing the money on purpose.

LiveDose 07-09-2009 07:44 PM

I'm sure it probably has something to do with Bush.

Irony of the week.

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-09-2009 09:55 PM

I'll do it for $1mil

Sly 07-09-2009 09:57 PM

In all fairness it is probably a fairly large and complex project. It's 9 million roughly to create the site... the other 9 million it sounds like it's for maintenance and probably data input. Is it worth $18 million over five years? I have no idea. Doesn't seem that insane in the grand scheme of things.

dav3 07-09-2009 10:01 PM

Recovery.gov

Alky 07-09-2009 10:03 PM

RNC's response... mentions the redesign in there...

woj 07-09-2009 10:07 PM

some company is laughing all the way to bank... collects 18 Million, hires outsourced workers from India for $100k, quick and easy 17.9 Million profit...

WiredGuy 07-09-2009 10:21 PM

No.We are spending $18 million on a redesign. I can't imagine how much they are spending on bandwidth. We don't need foreigners burning it up.

Dude you are in this business are you serious????? This is a fucking joke.

This is another example of government incompetence, government waste and poor management.

It is obvious that things will never change in this country until there is a revolution. It is clearly too late for any type of civilized solutions. Very very sad.

seeandsee 07-10-2009 07:10 AM

holy steal out!

12clicks 07-10-2009 07:57 AM

come on now!
deficit spending is only bad when the republicans do it. when the democrats increase it by 4x its just needed stimulus.

Keep your pants on. I don't believe the media any more than I believe a politician. Any time the media says something you know that they are not telling you the full truth.

$18 million over five years is roughly $300,000 a month. I don't know what the complete scope of the project is but I'm sitting here thinking about what would be required to provide the public with "total transparency," and I'm thinking that it would take a lot. Obviously it would take office space, system administrators, servers, and a fuck load of people to input data. Then we need to consider the level of transparency that these people are talking about... is it federal only? Will it include state? Will it include county? Will it include city? That is a lot of data to input and a lot of data to retrieve from the respective parties.

Yes, $18 million "for a website" seems like an assload of money. But it also seems like a massive project.

raymor 07-10-2009 10:25 AM

No wonder the trillion dollars in deficit spending is just hurting the economy,
when the administration is blowing it like this. Obama seems to agree that it's
not working and can't work - he's only spent 10% of it already and he's already
said that a trillion isn't enough, so he needs ANOTHER trillion dollars of our money.
Granted, the recession didn't START in the US and it's not as bad in the US as
it is in many other countries, so the dems forcing banks to make bad loans
probably didn't actually cause or trigger the problems as it first appeared, but
even the congressional budget office says the economy would be better off if
the government did absolutely nothing than going with the Obama plan of having
the government blow enormous sums from our, and out children's, paychecks.

I knew someone would try to be the smartest person in the room and create some logic out of this garbage. Bro my pants came off when this bailout nonsense started.

If you can't see the problem here sorry about that...

bobby666 07-10-2009 10:39 AM

art914 07-10-2009 10:44 AM
