Do you use Eudora for your email?

I've used it for years and it's tough to make a change.

Problem is: Eudora seems to have problems with attachments.
I'm using Eudora 7 on a Vista machine. Windows explorer can't even SEE the Qualcomm/Eudora/attach folder.

only place I can see it is in the shell of another program. (Cute FTP)

Anyone know the fix for this? There's very little help at their site.
Thanks

I haven't used Eudora in a very long time.. Now I use Mozilla Thunderbird.

Since I haven't used eudora in years I don't know how to fix that problem, but I'm sure there's someone here that knows. :)

I have been using Eudora since 1997. I haven't tried Vista. I know naughtywitch has Vista on the company laptop and she uses T-bird as well.

I have a feeling it's Vista that's the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

It's tough to give up on Eudora, especially when I have almost a decade of email archives. Plus, it's actually a program I like.

Why? Webmail FTW... I scrapped e-mail clients like 6 years ago. You'll understand when you need to upgrade your computer or replace your hard drive, just too much hassle exporting and importing mail.

wow Eudora...
haven't heard that in years and years!

I'm running Eudora 7.1.0.9 on Vista. What's the full path to your attachment directory? Mine is "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Qualcomm\Eudo ra\Attach". Windows explorer shows the directory and all the contents.

When I had it under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Qualcomm\Eudora\Attach", I had to go throught the show hidden files ritual. That wasn't a good place for the data files anyway.

This might be the answer I'm looking for. I'll try it out. Thank you.

Anyone running Eudora OSE version 1? Feedback would be appreciated.

selena 11-15-2010 09:12 AM

I used it for years, until a couplethree years ago when Comcast bought out my isp. I switched to gmail then, and have never looked back.

But I loved it when I used it.

Been using Eudora here since about 1998 as well but unly up to XP pro so far.

No idea why we still use it. Must be habit...

I have used and still use Eudora for almost fifteen years now. It works fine for me on Windows XP. I can't imagine using any webmail service as my main business email archives. I want to switch over to Outlook 2010 since I have my calendar and contacts in there, but I haven't wanted to bother transferring all my email mailboxes and archives.

u-Bob 11-15-2010 10:42 AM

haven't used for about 9 years now

kristin 11-15-2010 10:47 AM
