in the uk we (our uk goverment) seems to be not giving the uk troops what they need.

have you heard about this in the usa?

surly this puts those in the usa at more ruisk as at the moment the talaban are clearly going to try to kill as many people as they can in the next few months as in recent weeks support for the war in the uk has vanashed.

thus more the talaban kill less suport for the war and more increase in the posibility the uk will come out.

I havent heard anything about it and I follow the news.

Generally speaking military commanders always want more...of this or that...than what civilian leaders are willing to supply. When Rumsfeld was the Secretary of Defense here in the US he was repeatedly accused of trying to fight the two conflicts we are engaged in...on a shoestring...and he repeatedly insisted that he provided the military commanders with whatever was requested...which of course was an out and out lie. That is why the conflict in both countries have lasted so long. If cilvilian leaders determine that combat troops need to be engaged...that should be their only decision to make. They should not be allowed to micro manage military operations...but unforunately this is not the case.

I did read about the lack of equipment for U.K. troops and it sucks. We went through the same thing with the U.S. troops. Families and private citizens were sending over body armor and the troops were welding any metal they could find to their vehicles.

After a lot of complaining and dead soilders we finally got them what they needed. MRAPs, upgraded body armor, better weapons and the like.

Hopefully the citizens of the U. K. will shout loud enough to convince their government that there should be no hesitation when arming and protecting their soilders. A higher death toll shouldn't force them to take action like it did with us.
