ha ha nice one

epitome 07-17-2009 03:45 PM

You won't. They do not prohibit adult material in their TOS and I've had adult accounts for a long time.

Just make sure you do not upload nudity to TwitPic; instead, link to it from your tweet.

Calico Jack 07-17-2009 03:55 PM

Been using Twitter for a while now...90% adult content. So far, so good.

LeRoy 07-17-2009 03:57 PM

Yah I have some porn ones in there. I use sponsor feeds on em. I made a a couple sales so far too.

I wonder about posting nude pics on Twitter because my TwitPic account got banned after it was targets by a group of Jesus freaks, whatever.. But everyone tells me "Oh just use YFrog to upload nude pics to ur Twitter, yFrog allows it" and I do see people using YFrog or their own systems to post nude pics on Twitter..but does TWITTER allow it?
It's obv not as policed as say myspace.. that takes down my pics of me lifting up my skirt and showing my panties but I get friend request from guys with cock pics as their avatar all of the time.
I also see everyone putting adult websites on their Twitter profiles and linking to adult sites, some people use the "NSFW" and a couple of guys have messaged me and "warned me" that I should use "NSFW" when posting the things that I post.. what a buncha tools.. what are you doing surfing my Twitte profile while at work anyways? LOL

Has anyone ever really had their accounts deleted and was that because of adult content or cause you were spamming? and is there a way to get your account back?

Not sure on getting it back but just make a new one as they are pretty easy to do.

Abbie 07-17-2009 06:00 PM

We have had enormous success with twitter...now its not only in our top 3 for traffic, but also sales. It's been so good for us we launched:

http://www.onhercam.com/twitter
http://www.sizzlingcamgirls.com/twitter

(anyone on twitter wanting hardlinks on those pages, hit me up).

You just have to be careful not to blatanly spam twitter and not get too nasty. They are somewhat tolerant of most things from my own experience.

iheartbucks 07-18-2009 06:31 PM

you guys rock with twitter and I would personally like to thank you for getting me addicted, you fuckers <333

Abbie 07-18-2009 06:41 PM

It's not just addicting but it's a great tool for sites if used right :)

Yes you can get it back, they keep it six months, go try to log into your account and you should see some info about suspended accounts and disputing it. Send them an email and they
might just reactivate it.

A few things I've learned (or think I've learned) about twitter so far that could help keep you safe from being deleted.

- Obviously don't post nudity on twit pic.
- Don't link to nudity anywhere unless there's a warning page in between.

That means you should link to your sites warning page, not the tour, and use sites with adult content warnings to host any vids. We use dailymotion for instance, and actually started a yahoo group to link to in the place of galleries. They both have logins and age appropriate warnings that put the onus on the user.

Twitter can be a great tool if you tour as a dancer, do appearances, have cam shows etc. It will help spread your name and keep your fans in the loop. Use it to appeal to fans who want to know your personality etc., and gain face recognition by posting hot non nudes and pretty head shots instead of AC. Ivy uses it all the time to post nonsense from her laptop/blackberry, and I use tweetlater to schedule her spam posts in advance.

Of course, I'm just cautious. Just because cats get away with doing a, b and c today doesn't mean they will tomorrow. We all had huge myspace pages full of adult content a few years ago thinking everything was cool, then one day it wasn't and we lost our accounts.:2 cents:

fatfoo 07-18-2009 07:05 PM

Never tried it, never got banned.

Hey guess what? Your "banned" from twitter search

http://search.twitter.com/search?q=from:OnHerCam

http://search.twitter.com/search?q=OnHerCam

This is what happens when you post adult stuff, they will not "Ban" your account per say BUT you WILL vanish from search.

OnHerCam, only way you will make it in search is if someone else says your name, or responds to your tweets.

I wrote a nice long post about this in Juicy's "Search is broken" thread last week if you want the full scoop.

-Loki-

Loki 07-18-2009 11:22 PM

here the post....

lol, Juicy That is the LEAST of the issues with Twitter right now, and TRUST me when I say this, NOW the search is ONLY good for singly DRIVE-BY 'spams' after you do it more then twice (five if they are slacking) you can say GOODBYE to your tweets in search....

They have this wonderful loophole where they will BAN YOU (not from the site lol) but
the "Find People" "Search" "Hashtag" "Trending Topics" and "From:" and NOTHING you say no matter what it is, will ever EVER make it to search....

They have been playing with it for the last few months (under the guise of a "glitch") When in reality they have been "fine-tuning" it.

You don't have to believe me if you don't want, but if your bored do this.....

Search TWITTER here on GFY, find a thread that features a nice selection of GFY Twitter accounts, then head over to twitter and do the following....

(1) first goto the person's page itself (IE twitter.com/whatevernamehere) make a lil mental note of: THE LAST TIME A POST WAS MADE

(2) Next scroll down to the bottom of the page and click SEARCH

(3) type this: from:whatevernamehere (IE the twitter name MINUS the @)

(3a) I would bet dollars to donuts you will find a GOOD number say "No results for from:whatevernamehere"

what the from: hashtag does is display the post from that actual user. Twitter has been SWEEPING the site clean of accounts they deem to be "Not Search Relevant" and THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of accounts have been "banned from search"

Now what exactly is Twitter's criteria of being "Not Search Relevant"?

* Abusing trending topics
* Aggressively following and un-following people (a common spam tactic)
* Re-posting public content without attribution to the author

Twitter may automatically remove accounts engaging in these behaviors from search in order to ensure the best experience for everyone.

(4) go back to Twitter home page, and click on FIND PEOPLE

(5) Type in any username you used in (3) and again dollars to donuts allot of them will say.... "We couldn't find anyone named whatevernamehere."

(6) Finally simply type in twitter.com/whatevernamehere in your address bar and VIOLA there is the account :(

Their blocking porn, MLM, spam, Religious, Comedy, multi-users, rapid tweeters, etc etc at the speed of light over the last month or so.

BUT fear NOT, even though you may be banned from search you CAN still gain more followers (And honestly it makes ya feel even better when your banned and the numbers still keep climbing lol)

If you want any more info about this, feel free to ask and I'll share what I know.

PS, if you want more reading here are some "official links to the matter"

Loki, thanks for all the info, it's much appreciated. I'll have our guy look into it, but even w/out that search we're still getting some great traffic. But this is great to know.

I will agree that one can STILL get new followers even while being 'banned' from the search and or find features, AND I look at those followers as BETTER followers....

To gain followers AND not be in search it means your (new) followers hunted your ass down lol

IF you find yourself in the "search ban boat" here are a few tricks to keep raising your numbers:

(1) Get ppl to reply to you or retweet your posts THOSE WILL appear in search UNLESS the ppl who reply or retweet you are also "banned"

(2) Take part in "Follow Friday" (make a tweet telling ppl to follow a few of your 'friends') IE: #FF @name1 @name2 @name3 @name4 @name5

If those ppl see you do that, there is a GREAT chance they will return the favor for you!

(3) go to the search page and type in something relevant to your twitter account, and then reply to those results, you will normally get at least a 25% follow return, and about 50% of the people will reply to you (thus showing your name to their followers)

(4) link your twitter on as many searchable places as you can (DUH!)

(5) most importantly TURN ON YOUR AUTO FOLLOW! IE ANYTIME someone follows you you automatically follow them back (80% of the gfy ppl are not doing this lol)

(6) Setup an Auto DM for new followers, (you can rotate diff messages too) make it personable, and if you want even include a link back to your site/s

That's it for now, can't give you ALL my secrets lol

They are pretty much all listed in my above posts BUT....

TWITTER NO NO'S

massive following / unfollowing (This WILL gain you nice amounts of followers BUT it will get you banned from search)

Abuse of 'hashtags' (Hashtag = # or @ symbols
# + word = search term IE #porn will display posts with the word porn in them.
@ + name = twitter account IE @yournamehere tweets will appear in (Yournamehere) "mentions"

Abuse to twitter means doing this over and over again to try and dominate or manipulate the twitter search or "Trending Topics"

Abuse of Trending Topics: IE using a hashtag for a popular topic to spam
IE Live nude girls #iranelection click here or something similar

Posting too many links (I don't have a number for this lol, but I would say if you keep your links UNDER 25% of your tweets you SHOULD be fine

posting nudity on your tweets (it's NOT in their TOS per say BUT they will spank you for it)

MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS: go ahead and HAVE more then one account BUT DO NOT POST THE SAME STUFF ACROSS ACCOUNTS! (especially LINKS!)

IF YOU MUST... RETWEET THEM (add RT @whatevername before the tweet) BUT use that sparingly!

and here is my fav:

If "Too Many" people block you.... self expanitory

So as long as you stay away from these practices you should be safe and STAY listed in all the various Twitter searches

as far as mass following, what would be a safe number per day? i've been reading to keep it under 500 a day. thx for the tips.

I really can't give you a solid 'safe' number, but what I've done on a few accounts is to only do 20 - 50 per few hours tops, on accounts where I've done 500 or so a day I've had some get blocked and then some not get blocked.

I really think it falls back onto WHAT you "post" when it comes down to it.....

and as far as mass following, from what I have seen... each time you do it, give it at least 2-4 days before you dump everyone NOT following back.

But DON'T do the "trick" of mass follow/unfollow you will get 'banned' from search by doing that.
