Bloggers, what do you do with registered users?

Whats the benefits of having registered users to your blog? I was thinking of adding this feature to mine :)

You can allow them to add content to the blog and edit their own posts.

I've installed a plugin called "subscribe2" that sends out an email every time I update the blog
