MojoHost Data Center Tours at Internext

First and foremost, thank you everyone for the overwhelming response to the badge giveaway. I can't wait to hang out with familiar faces and a lot of new faces.

Even though we have run out of badges, it isn't too late to sign up for a tour of MojoHost's industry leading technology at the Terremark NAP of the Americas datacenter located in Miami, FL. You will be transported in style from the Western Diplomat to the Datacenter and back, with memories that will last! There are 4 available tours that you can be a part of. There are a few open spots in total between all 4 tour times. If you went on a tour last year, join us again and feel free to share your experience in this thread.

Please ICQ or email me to signup asap!

See you all soon! :)

We are in active discussion with Terremark about photography. The short answer is no, it will not be allowed for any guests of the tour. The longer answer is that we are in discussions about bringing a professional photographer (perhaps you) to take photos with their editorial and security supervision.

:thumbsup

Brad

What you'll be seeing:

Terremark's flagship facility, the NAP of the Americas®, is one of the most significant telecommunications projects in the world. The Tier-IV facility was the first purpose-built, carrier-neutral Network Access Point and is the only facility of its kind specifically designed to link Latin America with the rest of the world. More than 160 global carriers exchange data at the NAP of the Americas.

Building Features
750,000 square foot, purpose-built datacenter
Tier IV facility with N+2 power and cooling infrastructure
Equipment floors 32 feet above sea level
Roof slope designed to aid in drainage of floodwater in excess of 100-year storm intensity assisted by 18 rooftop drains
Designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane with approximately 19 million pounds of concrete roof ballast
7 inch thick steel reinforced concrete exterior panels
The building is outside FEMA 500-year designated flood zone

Power

The electrical and mechanical systems at the NAP of the Americas represent the most advanced and reliable integrated systems of their kind, in the world. These systems have proven to be an important differentiator in attracting a highly sophisticated client base.
Environmentals

The following power, environmental, and fire suppression capabilities exist to protect the NAP of the Americas.

100% AC power availability guarantee

Redundant power vaults fed from multiple substations

Two independent 13,200 volt feeders supply the medium voltage switchgear

Uninterrupted, stable power by 6 HiTEC Continuous Power Systems which provide a transfer time 10 times better than a typical UPS power system found in most data centers

Each HiTEC unit is rated at 2 megawatts for a total of 12 megawatts of capacity

Five redundant chilled-water heat exchange systems with 2000 tons of chilled water to cool the building

Humidity maintained at 45% - 55%

Air systems refreshed through filtered vents at four sides of the building

Electronic detection systems for monitoring and maintaining all environmentals

Smoke and heat sensors provided in:
- Colocation space
- Communication equipment rooms
- Mechanical and electrical rooms

TotalPac Pre-action dry pipe fire suppression system which holds water outside of the building until a fire is verified, ensuring that water will not accidentally drain into equipment areas

Temperature continuously kept at 72°F ± 5°F

The power and environmental systems of the NAP of the Americas are so advanced that our technicians can perform maintenance on any element of your system without impacting your operations. This design allows us to deliver an unprecedented 100% availability guarantee for all power and environmental systems.

....all very interesting but the pictures are worth a thousand words and in person it's amazing....

There are only a few spot left on the tours so if you're interested reach out to me ASAP. :thumbsup

Brad Mitchell 08-04-2009 08:56 PM

Last BIG announcement about all of this----

From here on out, people will have to find us in person at the show if they want to attend a tour. In the event there are any no-shows, the times to find us in the lobby for last minute attendance will be 10am and 1pm on Friday and Saturday. Alternatively, phoning CoreyS at his work extension or myself for that matter will be an excellent way to get us on the phone during the show.

The mojohost data center tour isn't to be missed!

See you all soon :)

Cheers,

Brad

I'll let you examine one of these shirts up close someday... there is nothing hula about them!

I dreamt of swag for this show and a big dance party to celebrate my 10 years... but... alas, these are frugal times for all of us. We thought it best to lead by example with an event centered around substance and keep the extra pennies for the future in our war chest.

Cheers,

Brad
