Anyone else having Firefox crashing issues?

I upgraded to Firefox 3.5 then 3.5.1 and both versions seem to have the same problem. When I first start it up at the beginning of the day often it just hangs and I have to restart it to get it to work. Then for no reason and without warning it will just shut down. Luckily it often will recover the session when I reload it, but it is starting to annoy me.

Anyone else having this issue? I never had any trouble with it until this upgrade.

Barefootsies 07-22-2009 09:03 PM

Yep.

Talked about it a week ago in Juicy's thread. It was crashing on various sites, and taking too long to load. Increased the cache, still did not solve all the issues.

In the end, uninstalled it, and went back to an older version.

Spunky 07-22-2009 09:04 PM

I notice it on facebook, very clunky

brassmonkey 07-22-2009 09:05 PM

Porn Grounds 07-22-2009 09:06 PM

Yup. It is killing me. It is actually coming to the point where it is freezing my whole computer and I have to hard reboot.

I might just go back to 3.

I haven't gotten to that point yet, luckily.

But I'm not too far away from going back to an older version until this is figured out.

Way3 07-22-2009 09:09 PM

Itchy 07-23-2009 07:35 AM

I find that FF crashes every now and then for no reason :(

Fletch XXX 07-23-2009 07:46 AM

yes, I stopped using FF to browse GFY because it was crashing after every post.... started using google chrome, no issues and getting malware issues from gfy threads, could be why ff crashes here

johnuk 07-23-2009 07:53 AM

I had problems with FF 3.5 crashing when I used the search box. If you've changed the search box location from its default it seems to cause problems

C-Luv 07-23-2009 08:13 AM

I been having issues with it this past week.

pornask 07-23-2009 08:24 AM

You fail as internet user if you use failed browsers like FF. Case closed.

Ok, i'll take note on this. I'll get the older version back.

Massive memory leaks... not sure if it's with FF 3.5.1 on in the rushed extensions, but my FF has been as high as 800MB in the task manager!

:helpme

CYF 07-23-2009 11:43 AM

I'm using the new version of FF too and I haven't had any problems. 3.5.1 on a Mac.

Safari is a nice browser too.

SunDevilangels 07-23-2009 02:51 PM

I am on the same FF 3.5.1 on a MAC and I will be down grading in the morning. I can't take it anymore.

Huge memory leaks. Right now I have been browsing for about an hour and it is just about a gig of memory usage. Nothing else being used

fatfoo 07-23-2009 11:33 PM

Never had those issues. Good luck, kane.

PiffStenis 07-23-2009 11:38 PM

3.5.1 works fine for me - never crashed.

I've had problems with FF in the past like those described here when I've upgraded. I now do completed uninstall and re-install.

pamon 07-23-2009 11:49 PM

I spend 8-15 hours a day on the computer, and have used IE8 since it was released. Not ONCE have it crashed - NEVER - and no matter what all the tests say, if i put two identical computers next to eachother and load the same site in IE8 or FF - IE8 loads faster.

Google crome is a disater the way it loads the page. The javascript tests is great with google crome, but on real websites it way slower to use

Dirty Lord 08-04-2009 04:20 AM

well....usign Google Chrome here ;)
