They use aks, they are disposable cheap and easy to attain in large numbers thanks to the cold war and other previous wars. So yes, our enemy uses these weapons, so it would be good for you to get familiar with them.

Yeah, I read an article about that. I think they used to sell handguns with cars, and their sales went up like 50% or something, as opposed to without handguns. It's not legal in all states, I guess. It would be illegal in Canada probably.
