Remember this mother that was criticised about being unemployed and having octuplets well she has just landed herself and her kids $250,000 for all 14 children to star in a TV reality show ..Right or wrong what do you think ??



The California mother of octuplets born earlier this year has signed a $250,000 (£152,000) deal for all 14 of her children to star in a reality TV show.

Nadya Suleman, dubbed "Octo-Mom" by the media, inked the deal with European TV company Eyeworks, reports say.

Contracts filed with a Los Angeles court say the children will earn the money over a three-year period.

Filming is scheduled to begin on 1 September, but a judge must first approve the contracts.

Film crews will not follow Suleman and her children 24 hours a day, but will document certain milestones, such as birthdays and special events, her lawyer said earlier.

The court documents say Suleman's children, who are up to eight years old, will collectively earn $125,000 for 36 days of shooting in the first year of production, $75,000 for 21 days in the second year, and $50,000 for 14 days in the third year.

The contract specifies that 15% of the income will be placed in a trust fund that the children will only be able access at age 18, as required by California law.

Last month, Californian authorities slapped an online site with four child-labour violations for videotaping two of the octuplets without the required safeguards to protect their health and welfare.

Suleman made headlines around the world when her octuplets - six boys and two girls - were delivered by Caesarean section in January.

She later attracted criticism when it was revealed that she was unemployed, and had conceived the octuplets, along with her six other children, through in vitro fertilisation.

right or wrong? VERY fucking wrong! People like this make me sick that they would exploit their kids to make a buck and it is even more sad that people will watch this garbage :disgust

So that means total the kids get 250K or 250K each. If it is total you have to assume after takes she is looking at about 150K that is about 10K a kids of which only $1500 has to be put away in a trust fun. It is better than nothing, but not riches.

The way it is worded it sounds like that total is for all the kids. It isn't that great, but maybe they have some kind of deal where they can make more if the show does well.

Right of course, the kids must eat etc. It is recession, life is expansive...

I think its wrong for her to be so careless to go down the road she did , what would have happened if the media didnt get ahold of this? She'd be fucked, kids be fucked, taxpayers fucked...

but i think its right for her to take advantage of any money coming her way as she should so we taxpayers don't have too...

and a big fuck you to the media for encouraging this sort of shit which I probably place the most blame on. next thing you know some copy cat will try and one up it...

with 14 kids 250k even tax-free in a lump sum will last a year. far from riches.

But she has to make money to feed her kids, doesn't she. Everybody has to make money somehow. Although, it's sad for the kids. The kids have no say in this. Maybe they don't want to be watched by everyone like that.

$250,000? That's it? John & Kate get paid $75,000 for every episode.

Then again, this isn't quite the same I guess for Octomom. It's less filming over a long period of time.

If it what happens to her really matters to you, then perhaps you have some other issues... like watching too much tv.

I don't think its right but I can't see how she could ever get a job with that many kids, let alone make enough to pay their expenses. Its a bad situation, but I think she should take it as it seems to be the only way she can make a descent living to pay for all these kids.

I do think its better that someone else manages her kids money though. 15% should be higher in something like this to protect her kids interests more.

Yup, you just know tons of ppl are going to watch a reality show about her and her kids. That $250k is chump change compared to what the show is going to make.

I'm assuming that she is still getting those subsidies and I would imagine she will be until those kids are all 18 or they are taken away from her.
