I disagree. I think it is terrible. They did about 1.5 million pay per view buys. That is somewhere between 50-75 million just in pay per view income add in about 5 million in gate sales and they have 55-80 million in income from this not counting sponsors. I understand that they have costs to cover, but the payroll of around 1.8 million is not even 5% of the sales. That is pretty low when you consider a big time boxing event the main event fighters will make 10-15 million each.

Wow, Frank Mir got fucked twice that night.

VeriSexy 07-31-2009 10:06 PM

huge money for fighting 5-6 times a year. UFC making money of sales, ticket prices, gear, and 60/ppv buys. big money sport. now w/ tito back, it'll be bigger. UFC guys FTW

Some of those guys need to beat the shit out of their managers. Holy-mother-of-fuck.

One of those guys is getting paid 11x more than his competitor.

I was thinking the same thing.

Do the fighters have to pay everyone they train with or do those gyms/trainers offer their services free so they can say they train GSP or whatever?

If they have to pay, then those payouts suck for the most part.

Either way it sux. I got paid more (than alot of the lower end wages) for throwing people out of dive bars and bodyguarding strippers and porn stars. This is the most brutal and demanding sport in the world today. They should get 10X that amount. Their whole life is training, sparing, sleeping and eating fighting. That's a hard life for those low wages - these are the BEST in the world. Alot of these guys could make alot of money doing fitness modeling too. It's a shame they don't make waaaaaay more.

ladida 08-01-2009 01:24 AM

Woa. Some guys getting 8k for the fight rofl. There's fighters in 3rd world countries making more per fight :)

Definatelly need more then that, if you measure in how much work they put into that.

San 08-01-2009 01:50 AM

i think the fighters are getting robbed

:2 cents:

Brock made close to 10 times what was reported. Some of the other guys must have had deals too. It is not as bad as it looks.

James124 08-01-2009 02:23 AM

StarCash 08-01-2009 03:27 AM

If you check UFC by # at Wikipedia, like UFC 100, UFC 99, UFC 98 you can see the salaries for each event and fighter
