Online poker legal now?
Just playing a game over at a popular membership-based poker site when someone from Florida at the table said PokerStars now offered instant e-checks both ways. When I mentioned US players still couldn't play online for cash, they said I was mistaken and now it was legal. On Howard Stern, the rep for the PPA mentioned they were still fighting it but that was about two weeks or so ago.
Has anyone else gotten wind of this? |
It's being talked about but not legal yet
|
being illegal has never stopped me from depositing and playing online.. do it all the time
|
It has never been illegal, now or in the past.
The UIGEA law only makes it extremely difficult for financial transactions to take place. If anyone is breaking the law it is VISA/MASTERCARD/BANKS for processing, not you for depositing or playing. |
Interesting takes on this. Roughly a year after the ban/law/whichever became active, my bank froze one of my bank accounts due to depositing via e-check. I had to go into the bank and see the branch manager in person. Pretty shitty.

I would rather play live... that way I can cheat more effectively

They should legalize gambling and weed, and then tax both.
