What would cause the "MBR" in Windows to become compromised?
It seems to happen to me on and off on several machines where the blinking cursor upon boot shows itself. I have to enter recovery console and use "FIXMBR" command to bring it back to normal. Anybody know what can cause this? One machine had a new hard drive so I am taking hardware issue out of equation.
Thoughts? -PS BuRRRRRpppppppp |
Everything inbetween Rootkit on your clients that replicate over the LAN (if you have that), or bad electricity supply

Your computer can't handle being gay anymore... it has corrupted the hard drive.

Any Linux install on the disk? It writes the GRUB links into it.
If not, check your system with antivirus software...some motherboards have "virus check" that no software can write to mbr... if you don't have it, I'd consider to change the MB... |
