entourage... what's the deal?

comedy central here decided to air entourage and since everyones raving about how good it is i watched the first two episodes. Wow..... this show is about absolutely nothing. There's no story line, its just looking at a group of friends going to parties picking up chicks and buying stuff. Does it get better after these 2 episodes? Because this is just horrible... and where the hell is the comedy? It doesn't have anything in it, just a really tiny bit of drama. This show sucks major balls.

dyna mo 08-03-2009 09:40 AM

what shows do you like?

Manowar 08-03-2009 09:41 AM

its just decent watching, not anything deep

96ukssob 08-03-2009 09:41 AM

first few episodes sucked, i didnt like the first season at all.

it did get MUCH better in season 3 going forward, its a great show now

Yo Adrian 08-03-2009 09:43 AM

I'm with you Nico, I gave it a 3 or 4 episode run and it sucked. I think it appeals to your teenage boy crowd who dreams of living their lifestyle.

ztik 08-03-2009 09:44 AM

I just got done watching season one, seams kind of cheesy

people say it gets better. ill watch it to season 3 before I give up

aniloscash 08-03-2009 09:44 AM

there's no need to try and insult those who do enjoy the show, it's just television eh.

robfantasy 08-03-2009 10:14 AM

ya ... when will there be a new season of curb your enthusiasm, that is the only show worth watching on TV LOL

you are watching a show called entourage and you are surprised it's a "group of friends going to parties picking up chicks and buying stuff"

did it not click in with you thats what it would be about?

let me guess you didnt like transormers because of "plot holes" even though the entire movie is about fictitious robots from outer space.

bronco67 08-03-2009 10:17 AM

Just fun to see how the other half lives...if I want good story I'll watch Breaking Bad(best on TV).

If you like to see tons of hot girls, and watch jeremy Piven do his thing, then its for you.

KickAssJesse 08-03-2009 10:20 AM

Entourage is top 5 shows that I like...
Also check out Dexter and Californication :]

Larry David -- co-creator of "Seinfeld" -- has convinced the four stars of that classic Emmy-winning sitcom to reunite for a multiepisode arc on the upcoming season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm." As David explained at a TCA presser yesterday, "For years, I've been asked about a 'Seinfeld' reunion. We'll see the read-through, parts of rehearsals, the show being filmed."

Jerry Seinfeld is set to appear in five episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" while the other "Seinfeld" cast members -- Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards -- slated to appear in four installments.

And as per David, "The season finale will be about the reunion show. It could very well be [a one-hour episode], but I haven't finished editing it yet. But that's a good possibility."

LOL that's great. I've only seen a few episodes but they all basically played out with the same formula as that.

Tube Ace 08-03-2009 12:26 PM

Yeah, if it's edited it's not as good - just like The Sapranos.

LadyMischief 08-03-2009 12:29 PM

Entourage strikes me as the jock version of 90210. Vapid, shallow, and silly. Not really a fan at all, even the eyecandy isn't enough to redeem it.

what are you talking about there are so many small little story threads starting
ari business partners is potentially fucking up their business for piece of ass
ari assistant is going to become a talent agent
e closed up his business and becoming a one client show again
turtle is going to business school to develop his own business potentially breaking away from the pack.
drama has potential with his own show

it less about vince and more about the guys.
there is a potential of a love triangle with e sloan and the new girl.

They have good songs in the soundtrack.

If you want something deep check out the wire, especially seasons 1 - 3.

I agree with you, it's mostly crap. it goes up and down though and started getting good with the Pablo Escabor thing and ended that season great, but overall, it's a bunch of rich spoiled brats fucking hot chicks and buying rich toys. A crew of chimpanzees could write the scripts by accidentally striking the fucking keyboards!

Their biggest star is the chick from the Sopranos and they try to play her down so she doesn't cast a shadow on who is supposed to be the stars. Sort of funny.

Calico Jack 08-03-2009 01:31 PM

We got series 1-4 for Christmas. First few episodes started off slowly and like you I wondered what trhe fuss was all about. After getting through those I came to the conclusion that this is one of the best written and funniest shows off all time. Ari & Drama are classic characters. It's worth watching more.

LAJ 08-03-2009 01:34 PM

Every season, every episode rocks.

Exactly. That's why last nights show was half decent, but they don't have the balls to really use them much or don't know where to go with them and that explains the rollarcoaster ride.

I've been forced to watch it because i was always squeezed between things like the sopranos and the wire and deadwood, but that's what gave it, it's kick start, lets not fool anyone.

smutnut 08-03-2009 01:38 PM

It's a nice little pick me up for Hollywood wannabes who think they are going to make it some day.

Complete outsiders who like the fantasy though

DonovanTrent 08-03-2009 01:55 PM

I see enough douchebags in Las Vegas on a daily basis, than to have to watch a show about them.

To be fair, any good show starts off slow. You can't expect the first two episodes to be extremely exciting. The first episodes of any good show are used to introduce the characters and to let you know who they are, where they come from and why they act like they do. I would never judge a show after only 2 or even 5 episodes.

I watch entourage because of Jeremy Piven. That's pretty much it. The other characters are just fun to watch.

spider_x 08-03-2009 08:28 PM

It's not so much the plotline itself as well, everything else. You either like it or you don't. It's a zen thing.

I think the first couple episodes of LOST is what hooked people :upsidedow

WiredGuy 08-03-2009 08:58 PM

First few episodes really blew as they needed to introduce the story line. After say 4 episodes it gets much better.

I watch it for Piven, and because E is played by one of my childhood celeb crushes (from back when he was on Unhappily Ever After, which was awful)

John-ACWM 08-04-2009 06:47 AM

I watch it for Piven too.Best in the show by far.Awesome job,Jeremy!

MichaelP 08-04-2009 06:54 AM

I LOVE Entourage.. Nothing deep there, It's NOT Gandhi!

But after few episodes, you start to like some of the characters. Harry is a hilarious.. Turtle is Funny (We all have a "Turtle" in our own entourages) Vince is cool... Johny Drama is.... well.. LOL

Anyway, the only thing I ask to a Series or Movie is to be entertained... Nothing more, nothing less... If I can learn a thing or two, then it's a bonus... If I want to LEARN, I watch documentaries, not Movies.

Entourage does the job for me :thumbsup

porndotnet 08-04-2009 07:10 AM

piven for president

thats exactly what im looking for too in series & movies, problem is this didnt entertain me one bit..... it didnt do anything... it was like some twilight zone energy for an hour numbing my mind... like staring at a brick wall for an hour...
