dedicated server, Secured Servers or PacificRack?

Need to hook up a couple more dedicated servers asap, looking at Secured Servers and PacificRack. Anyone have any comments, suggestions, first hand experiences with either? TIA!

candyflip 08-07-2009 07:25 AM

I've been with Pacific Rack for almost 2 years now. You won't see any complaints from me.

darksoul 08-07-2009 07:27 AM

1. never heard of them
2. going smooth

nodevoyeur 08-07-2009 07:46 AM

thx candyflip and darksoul, appreciate the info. anyone else familiar with these companies?

lasvegasjs 08-07-2009 09:52 AM

I would like more info about this... Thanks in advance

Tjeezers 08-07-2009 10:02 AM

i have no complains really about Pacific. I think should hit them up for a conversation?

whatif_3 08-07-2009 11:39 AM

i have not heard about anyone's experiences with Pacificrack, but i know the team at securedservers is more than solid

as solid as they get

dieselaction 08-07-2009 12:01 PM

Id recommend Securedservers, great prices and the service is good and quick

st0ned 08-07-2009 12:30 PM

I have no experience with Secured Servers but I am very happy with my Pacific Rack server.

Nasty 08-07-2009 01:45 PM

I moved three of my servers to pacificrack a few months ago and am extremely happy, great support (real onsite 24 hr support) and a very fast network :thumbsup

There are quite a few people here who host with PacificRack. I've never seen or heard one negative comment about their company or service.

jcsike 08-07-2009 01:59 PM

i have had 4 servers at securedservers for some time, you get the same service as a natnet or softlayer, but at a ridiculous price

couldnt recommend them more

DaddyHalbucks 08-07-2009 02:06 PM

I just signed up with Pacific and they had me setup REALLY fast even on a Saturday evening. I highly recommend them, they've been awesome so far. Exactly as advertised, super fast response times, easy upgrade path, not a lot of BS upsell on dedicated boxes, and just generally very friendly support. 5/5 for those guys.

Cyandin 08-10-2009 09:29 AM

See sig for another great option to take care of your server needs! :thumbsup

Chris 08-10-2009 09:32 AM

ive tried pacificrack and we had MAJORRRRRR billing issues with them repeatedly

i mean servers are great
tech support is great
prices are great

but whoever handles the accounting needs to go back to school. my 4 yr old probably could do the billing better.

Never been over charged...given "credits" .. had old cards charged ... threating to turn servers off after paying ...

but staying with webair

may have to pay more but worth it

Andy CHOOPA 08-10-2009 09:45 AM

If you need another option we can help you at CHOOPA.com. We have been in the business for over a decade and we can get you up asap.

Thank you,

its funny with hosts sometimes, they can give great tech support, keep your server up, but when it comes to billing, the systems they use often seems like an afterthought "oh yea, we got to have a way to bill these people"

what unmanaged plans do you guys offer? thought you only did managed hosting

fatman1 08-10-2009 11:54 AM

Just moved from webair (aka nightmair)

ive had the same experience myself, matter of fact, it seems hosts invest in what they think is important such as their tech support guys and a strong network, but the billing systems are often one of the last things to be considered, i knew some big hosts that at one point were billing 1mil+ using excel spreadsheets

good luck with your search

TidalWave 08-10-2009 05:59 PM

just so its clear, we don't offer virtual hosting, and jcsike was referring to webair.

xsabn 08-10-2009 09:04 PM

pacificrack is cool :thumbsup

There are far better choices then those 2, I would shop around a little bit more. Talk to phatservers, TechieMedia, mojo, Nat net all those are going to give you a better overall quality product imho.:2 cents:

webmasterchecks 08-11-2009 03:52 PM

Checkout CertifiedHosting (aka. NakedHosting)
They have $0.01 promo right now so first month will cost you only $0.01!

Their support is good and they also have fully managed solutions!

hadnt heard about this, nakedhosting changed their name to certified hosting? id guess to get a bigger share of the mainstream hosting market

HorseShit 08-17-2009 05:06 PM

Out of those two I'd go with SS, no offense to PR.

I hope your right, we just got a box there.

Gambrinus 02-17-2010 11:04 PM

I read none of the responses to the this thread before responding.

Ive been with PacificRack for a little over a year. I have had zero downtime and the support is fucking freakishly efficient.

If you decide against PacificRack for some odd reason go with AmeriNoc.

Shit, didnt realize this thread was almost a year old. Fuck you bumper.

So far, from what I have been researching, agreed.

Redfield 02-18-2010 11:09 AM

Tanker 02-18-2010 11:26 AM

ive always wondered why a company would change their name, but this one makes sense, they are trying to do more mainstream stuff apparently

pornask 02-18-2010 01:47 PM

I'll join this old thread cause it got my attention. Regarding Secured Servers - prices seem very attractive, but how much are their fully managed services? Does anyone have a fully managed server with them? How are prices, how is support?
