Internext - Fail or Success ?

Haven't seen hardly any pics or mention of it - seems like its a dying show.

trevesty 08-09-2009 01:10 PM

It was a great success for us. Got a lot of business done and met some great people. :thumbsup

D Ghost 08-09-2009 01:11 PM

Success, just because no one's posted pictures of it on a forum doesn't mean it's dying...

tigermtb 08-09-2009 01:19 PM

No pics means it was such a good time and the pics are so pimp nobody wants to share... That, or they're all still very very hung over.

Or maybe the trees emitted pheremones and everyone is under a model getting fucked.. still.

Its possible..

Lots of biz done there. Only the people that mattered were there, getting biz done. No pics for getting biz done.

JimmiDean 08-09-2009 01:42 PM

For us the show was great bought some stuff, nailed some deals, and some new partnerships and products.
It was not much of a bro and party this year but for us it worked out far better,
Sponsors are tighening their purse strings at all shows and it is starting to show.
lots of pics to come from us next week

Good meeting you... will be in contact this week

jay23 08-09-2009 03:43 PM

Good show, well worth the $1500 I spent on Ticket + Hotel + Food.

The show was small around 400 but when you remove the fluff their were around 200 serious people. Due to the small time I was able to get a large face time , lunch, dinner meetings with key people.

xxweekxx 08-09-2009 03:55 PM

ive been to a mainstream affiliate shit before and everyone keeps saying "lots of business".. basically my best guess is that 95% of the "business" that was done never followed through..lol

This guy is like yeah man ill send you traffic, then another guy tells an affiliate company yah ill push 100 sales/day to you.. etc.. mostly all talk.. At the end of it people dont follow through..

You dont have to go to internext to do business.. All the contacts you need(hosting, sponsors, designers, etc?) are all on here

AaliyahLove 08-09-2009 04:10 PM

pics usually don't get posted until everyone is back home and rested. Fubar prob won't have their up till late in the week. I don't think you can judge a show by pics posted on GFY..

But I would also like to know how the show went, I went to the last 3 Florida Internext's and had a blast.. I love that hotel right on the beach! I couldn't make it this year due to too much work having to get done here at home :(

RyuLion 08-09-2009 04:12 PM

Success for me.

Sure thing - When your goal is bite the chick of one third of the chicks there, that's easy.

That's understandable but still face time with the people you communicate with throughout the year is valuable. I wish I was there but my father arrived from Australia to stay with me for a visit so family kind of carries more weight this time I am afraid but I am sure it was an amazing show, I hate missing them and I hope everyone had a wonderful time and got what they wanted out of it:)

Cheers

It was a good show. I'm a believer that you don't need to wine and dine inorder to do business, specially when you have a good product, but Sometimes icq and phones just don't do it.

I can't say it enough, this was a great show.

MediaGuy 08-09-2009 06:25 PM

Maybe the reason no one's posted about it was that they were too busy networking, meeting, schmoozing and boozing ( in that order, that's what it was for me).

Yes the show was "smaller" - but damned if the lack of boom-boom parties and events didn't raise our returns and increase our success in terms of sales and connections.

The pictures will come - the photogs were very active and more numerous than other years... and some already updated their sites during the event:

:D

ronaldo 08-09-2009 06:34 PM

400 people?? Yikes.

gocubbiesjess 08-09-2009 06:43 PM

Every show is what you make of it - you can choose to network or choose to complain about a lack of attendees. This show was great - I did a lot of business with a lot of great people.

Qbert 08-09-2009 07:37 PM

Talking to a lot of people about business doesn't necessarly equate to actually doing lots of business unless you have signed contracts and/or checks in hand. It's way too soon to know just how much business was really done as a result of meeting/talking with people at the show. It will be at least three to six months before most will really know how much business they did at the show.

I'll get back to you on first contracts in three to six days...

:D

All I can say is that I'm glad we went. Some shows are a bust as far as new business goes, but this show was not one of them. Greg did his usual bang-up job for me. We sold a couple of licenses, and shook hands on near-future deals. I did more networking than I ever did (even in the pool!) and Tracy did well too.

EZRhino 08-09-2009 09:12 PM

We did great at the show and regret none of the money we spent.

C-Luv 08-09-2009 09:37 PM

Huge success! Just got home, pic's coming soon : )

snaker 08-09-2009 10:33 PM

Good show!

Nice to put a face with a name.
Got some biz done, some golfing and some shooting.

Cyandin 08-09-2009 10:35 PM

Great Success!

I met a TON of great people, got a hefty amount of business done, and got to put more faces to names that I've know for awhile.

Time to pass out though - in my OWN bed, yay! You know you're all feelin' it too!

DAMNMAN 08-09-2009 11:17 PM

If you count success by the numbers of people that go to a show and the (free drinks) parties that are thrown by sponsors, then this show wasn't a blast like in the past.

There weren't so many newbies, posers, and wanna bees as compared to the past, which I thought was freakin' fantastic!!!

But if you equate success with real business and rubbing elbows with folks who can make a deal, then this show was OK.

Most everyone there was there with a purpose, including me. We'll see in the following weeks if the seeds I planted at this show will come to fruition.

If they do then this was a great show for me.

Jayvis 08-09-2009 11:27 PM

I just felt like people were walking all over me...

Depending on the people and if they take their heels off... that's not always a bad thing :winkwink:

That's what you get when you throw those gangsigns in the lobby.

CIVMatt 08-10-2009 07:21 AM

It means we're all too busy and don't have time to post
