Best Laptop....

What is the best laptop out there for the cheapest price possible??? I would like to keep the price as low as possible but I'm looking for decent quality. ANy thoughts???? :)

camgirlshide 08-09-2009 03:37 PM

I like lenovo myself.
They have a couple of nice low end lines - check out the idea pads.
Good prices all the time on dealnews.com

SBJ 08-09-2009 03:41 PM

check out tigerdirect.com and bestbuy.com if you are looking for something you can pick up at a decent price. These days you can get a decent 17" with atleast 2 gigs of ram for under $600 and if you don't need a 17" then you can get something decent for $400

MrPotatoBread 08-09-2009 04:26 PM

Nice, thank you for the feedback. I went to best buy and I looked at some macbookpro's etc. I am looking for something as low cost as possible that as decent capabilities with photoshop etc etc so things dont slow down too much. I dont need alot tho. Just best bang for my buck as cheap as can be. Lol.

Lycanthrope 08-09-2009 06:10 PM

Lenovo Thinkpads. http://www.lenovo.com

Since cost seems to be an issue, the SL or R series are affordable and on sale right now.

MBP are not cheap. what is your price point? it seems you're looking for all the bells and whistles for 500 bucks.

MrPotatoBread 08-09-2009 06:35 PM

If I can get all the bells and whistles for only 500 then thats awesome!!!! But yes I'm looking for anything 1k or less but best bang for buck.

For under a grand f*ck the SL500, buy a T400:thumbsup you wont regret putting 1K into a Thinkpad.

well, do you want the best laptop, or a cheap laptop?

The "best" laptops as your title would suggest are going to run around $5,000.

If you want something for $500, then just go to the local "insert generic store name here" and buy the newest "insert generic computer company" laptop.

pamon 08-10-2009 12:26 AM

i'd say lenovo as well. low end MBP is like 1399

VeriSexy 08-10-2009 01:03 AM

:thumbsup minddust knows what he's talking about, i spent about 4 years in retail/computer repair. The Lenovos were by far the least problematic. They are quality, the don't look as flashy as everything else, but don't let that fool you! :2 cents:

Acer sucks ass, IMO!

Look at some ASUS machines! Mine are silent, not too hot, fast, inexpensive. Running both Win7 and Ubuntu om it. Works like a dream!

OrangeContent 08-10-2009 02:57 AM

Dell has been good to me!

aubreythree 08-10-2009 03:07 AM

Lenovo, dell, sony, toshiba, asus are all good brands!

sysk 08-10-2009 03:10 AM

there's a good deal right now on http://www.woot.com

1 Acer Aspire AS6930-6067 or AS6935-6194 Core 2 Duo 2GHz 4GB DDR2 320GB DVDRW 16” LCD Vista Home Prem

$449.99

I wish they would ship in Canada :(

beta-tester 08-10-2009 03:30 AM

I would never buy acer! Crappy plastics and low quality hardware... that's why they're so cheap.

Your best bet would be to go with either Sony Vaio or MacBook, others are not just you can call QUALITY laptops.

Sid70 08-10-2009 07:05 AM

ya, Vaio or Mac, no shit.

tranza 08-10-2009 07:23 AM

Dell are good ones..

I blame Poppy Morgan..

Boobiepalooza 08-11-2009 07:56 AM

Id go with a Dell for a cheap option or Sony for something to last a bit longer.

Darkcrni 08-11-2009 08:17 AM

Dell and Lenovo!

Cyber Fucker 08-11-2009 08:55 AM

Yup, thinkpads rocks if you find a good one older model with lcd screen. Somehow, I don't like those new LED backlit displays.
