wtf is wrong with all these "standup" people that have no balls to pull out early before the damage is done? sad. |
No one single deal I have ever done have I fucked anyone on... even if I didn't like the design or work done, I still paid for it, that was the deal, for better or for worse.
Integrity is rare in this industry apparently. |
don't even start about it

not to mention missed payments, very late payments, or having to hector for payments.

yup it's getting pretty sad in this industry with all the non paying companies.. Thanks god for companies like CCbill :thumbsup
|
this is what gets everyone sour.
he doesnt pay her, she decides not to pay someone else, etc. then it comes down to that no one trusts anyone else. no matter what work I hire someone to do, as long as its done they get paid. at the same time ive had some pretty shitty design work done which ive argued over getting it done correctly, as well as crappy programming that never got finished. one thing that i cant seem to understand, especially with programmers is why you can not finish the job, but you expect to get paid. never made any sense to me... once job is done, you get paid. not when the job is 80% complete or 90%... 100%! |

I think its a problem with things being tight and a lot of people being under-capitalized, living payout to payout.
I am guessing less than 3% of the people in the industry could afford to pay all of their vendors if their income suddenly stopped coming in due to clients/banks/processors not paying them. So basically one key funding source stops paying out, the program/customer is screwed and broke and screws everyone else down the line. Not by choice, but just cause they have no money. |

And not because of crazy lifestyles, etc. I have been seeing sales I make with different sponsors drop precipitously for a year and a half now. I have watched the sponsors presence at shows drop just as quickly reflecting an absence of revenue available for advertising. It's been a slow fall to get here. Most every OWNER I have spoken to in person over the last 6 months has told me that they are 40% + DOWN in revenue from a year earlier. Apparently only Shap is making more money than ever with Twistys, even though I have begun to just delete the affiliate emails from them because putting up the galleries is a waste of my time because for me they sell as well as others seem to....not at all. I'd say that almost every paysite program out there is definitely running payout to payout. But not by choice, and not necessarily because of bad business decisions on their part either. But because they can't sell what is being given away for free. |
