what do you use to make website screenshots?
 

Whats the most effective way to capture a whole screen, but have it a small thumb.

like 410x170

but still be the whole screen length.

those nice thumbnailed "screenshots" that include the whole vertical scroll of a website are cool too (so technically those aren't actual screenshots but more like entire website snapshots)

Ya i use webthumbs and thumbazlier for those. but im trying to fit a full screen into a thumb if its possible.

I create all mine by hand actually... but I'm just that crazy ;) You can check out my site for examples.

There are a couple of Firefox plugins that capture the entire screen like FireShot and Screengrab. Personally, I like and use SnagIt.

screenshot captor. It's free from download.com and it has editing tools so you can put nice add on graphics. There's also a built in image editor.

I use ScreenshotCaptor -- does scrolling.

I use photoshop. I just print screen, paste it into photoshop, and crop as needed.

ctrl+prtscrn and paste into photo editor :)

firefox plugin. "screengrab" - it will make an image of the WHOLE page.. not just the visible part, or you can select the visible part in the window.

I'm going to cast another vote for Snagit. All the captures on adultcamscores are taken with it :thumbsup

I use screengrab and if I need it resized I do it in photoshop.

Ditto. Works like a charm.

There is another thingie though that will scroll the site and copy how ever long the site is.

A client sent me a copy of Snagit, and I use it for all kinds of things now. It opens the grab in an editor window and really just makes the process very streamlined for me.

Pearl Cresent Page Saver, works in firefox..

only drawback is it don't capture flash well..

You can go in and resize in photoshop from there..

Pearl Cresent Page Saver will save an entire page from top to bottom, no matter what your "screen shows' if you so choose, or you can do visible area only..

Works like a charm on my mac with firefox 2.0 or higher.

Screengrab! is far better, it does good with flash, and you can either save the image to your hard drive, or copy it so you can paste it into your editor, you can do full page, or just what's visable, and also selection.

Screengrab with foxy, then automate them with Photoshop, and you'll have the thumbs :)

Arles Image Gallery Creator from http://www.digitaldutch.com also does web site thumbs :)

Firefox plugin "Abduction!" also does a fine job of a fully scrolled screenshot.

i use Fireshot (extension for firefox) you can take a screencap of the visible area or the entire page. Will be a big screencap, but you can always edit them.

I use fire shot in FireFox.

Yup. firefox has a great add-on that does this and is really easy to use.

FireShot - Installs in Firefox OR Explorer
- you can set the resize in the dropdown menu under Preferences > Capturing
(pixels, %, width only, height only, width & height)

i already use snagit, and a few of the programs that are mentioned, but it takes the whole screen (which I want) but i want it resized to a small thumb still showing the full screen

I dont know if this would work but try making the resolution way big like 1920x and make the site fit on the screen, then grab it.

I use the screengrab ff extension

Screengrab for Firefox works fine... can either generate a PNG file or it can copy it to clipboard and I can import it into my graphic editor with one click...

maybe I'm misunderstanding but Thumbalizer does that

-enter the url..
-check the "Page" button..
-after it makes the thumb you can choose the full size (up to 1280 wide) and/or set the thumb to a custom width and it will remake the thumb to your desired size (say 200 X whatever length the page is) for example: I just made a screenshot of cams.com, it sized at 200x578
