I would like to see the money that they say the new jets will save. Without seeing those numbers, it's impossible to say. But gut instinct says... no.

Why don't they just buy the used ones that the banks had ordered. They should get them at a bargain.

Yea, they preach that companies can't, and companies can only make X amount of profit.... but govt can do whatever.... Doesn't make alot of sense with the amount of rhetoric being played on both sides.

of course they should have new jets. then they need to manage our health care system because clearly they're very frugal.

Nah ... just expand Cash for Clunkers to aircraft and tout how it will stimulate the economy. Much of the public will believe it.

And, for added measure, tout how fuel efficient the new jets are, and being better for the environment.
