Fucking SMS idiots. Pick up the phone and call !!!
I just don't get it. Why do people use sms when they can just call?
|
I prefer getting texts.
Checking voicemail and listening to message after message takes so long I honestly don't think I've checked my voicemail in months. It's full and I could care less. Just text me. But yes, some people hate texts. |
people shouldnt text unless they are 99% sure you are busy.
|
It's never happened to me, but I've heard countless people complain that people text while at dinner or out on a date. That would drive me insane and I would put a stop to it almost instantly.
|
Depending on the situation, I usually prefer a text to a phone call. Sometimes it is just more convenient.

I hate you and I hate sms.. |
I hate talking on the phone. Send me a txt, an icq, or an email.
Good luck even getting my phone number. I tell most people that I dont have a phone even when they are staring at the cell in my hand. |
Texting because you are an anti-social fuck and don't want to be bothered with hearing someone's voice on the phone, or you're on a bus, or in a public place where you don't want your phone conversation heard - fine.
Doing so so that if the person doesn't have their phone with them they'll get the text message when they get it back as opposed to annoying voicemail - fine. Doing so on a date or with someone of the opposite sex or even amongst friends constantly - annoying as fucking hell. |

text communication gives one a chance to think over their words and make the exact statement they want to get across, using voice sometimes your voice makes statements before your brain has thought it through enough
|
I prefer texts unless it is important. I can respond to texts on my own time and so can others. A phone call may interrupt me or the other person and result in a "hey, it's __________, call me back" voicemail ... as if we don't have missed calls lists on cell phones.
|
texting lets you multitask, but a phone call doesn't.
|
I vastly prefer text. Like I wanna spend 20 minutes on what could be done with 5 words.
|
I prefer texts as well. Here in the Philippines everybody uses sms all the time. Even when you make an appointment for the hairdresser, dentist, doctor, etc.

I agree, people are allready talking WAY too much imho. :2 cents: A text message at least forces people to keep their message short and formulate in a few sentences without an endless waste of time on talking on the phone. |
I text my friends more than I call them.. every night out or golfing or soccer match or anything we do is mostly arranged through text messages.

I hate sitting there on the phone - most of the time people just BS and sit there, waiting for me to say something. I don't even answer my phone most of the time and yeah, I've got voicemails I haven't checked in over a month. |
Depends on what's the what. If I am at dinner or whatever, my phone is going in my purse, and I avoid looking at it. I hate listening to voice mails (which is one of the reasons I am having girl boner for Google Voice), 'cos I read faster than most ppl talk.
I also prefer texting 'cos it means the conversation happens when the time is there. |

You know what bugs me is those dam Nextel walkie talkies. That fucking little chirp bugs the hell out of me. Then I have to hear the whole converstations.
|
if its something urget, ill call, but if its not, ill send a text.
likewise, i know people who do and don't respond to text messages. especially if its someone that i want to tell them something but don't want to talk, then i send a text :1orglaugh |
Texting is a big time saver.. just like ICQ is compared to being on the phone all day. You can juggle multiple convos at once.
Now what I hate is when you text someone and then they turn around and call you back, just to chat.. I'm a straight to the point kinda guy.. so texting someone to ask what time the poker game is, just to be called back to hear how good the sandwiches at Jasons Deli are.. not cool |
Sms are very usefull sometimes..
|
One or two texts back and forth is fine, then it's over, but don't spend 30 minutes having a "conversation" by typing out what you could have said with your voice in 2.
|
I dont use any portable communications device. Ahhhhhhhh.. try it sometime! Then leave the house for a while, woohooo! Like the good old days. World keeps spinning, I swear!

Texting is great. Get to let someone know what you want them to know and you don't have cut them off if they start to ramble on. ;)
