Cancer charities and also animal charities are close to me (so RSPCA + the PDSA etc).

Here's what I would do -- set aside your money at th ebeginning ofr the year.

cycle it through kiva.org a couple of times

then donate it.

I prefer to donate to Charity, (who is putting herself through college by stripping), one dollar at a time.

All kidding aside I prefer to donate to local charities. Food pantry, sponsor local kids who need school supplies, etc.

local people next to you are having a hard time feeding their families or pets donate to them cash or check in hand, why give it to some big charity will only a small % will end up in the hands of those who need it
