GSP vs Silva

or do you want to have GSP cut nothing and still fight underweight against silva that fight would be determined before it even started based on the which weight class they fought in. silva needs to fight people in the 205 range. |
I would like to see a 185 pounds GSP :)

to the death! lol

Wont happen. GSP wont take a chance in any other division. Silva's last fight impressed me with his stand up and how easy it was for him. 205 is really needed for him. Although dan henderson could beat him.
|
why wouldn't GSP try his chance in the middleweight division? there's nothing left for him in welterweight
|
Becuz GSP walks around at 185 and Silva would kick his ass!
|
I do not see it happening without some vaseline being involved
:party-smi I KID...I KID lol :angel |
I think GSP is the only fighter that could handle Silva's speed but the weight is a problem. You just need so much time to properly adjust to weight changes that it won't fit with the UFC schedule.
Maybe they could do a catchweight fight or something (not sure if UFC does that). I doubt you'll ever see any fight between the two but that's one I would really enjoy if there was enough preparation time for both fighters. |
Would certainly be an epic fight - I think for the sake of the fans of both GSP and of Silva, they should make an effort to meet in the middle or something. No one has really challenged either of these fighters in a long time - they have massive fan bases
I'm no UFC pro or anything, but as a person who enjoys just watching the bouts - I'd certainly enjoy this match up - because I don't really care about all the debate that happens behind it lol...just wanna see two of the top fighters in the world go at it! |
GSP would beat Silva, hands down. Even though Anderson is one of my favorites after that humiliation of Forest, GSP would still take him if they met at an equal weight.
|
I heart silva :)

it would definitely be the most viewed event in UFC history

GSP would be undersized in the fight. He is not even that big for welterweight. I still think that he would have a chance. Silva has mostly fought guys that though it would be a good idea to stand and trade with him. GSP is the best take down artist in the game and could stifle any submissions. Lutter came closest to winning and he came in overweight and out of shape. Only two people in the last 10 fights have even really attempted a takedown: lutter and henderson. I think silva's weakness could be a great takedown guy with some decent jiu-jitsu defense. Stand up is suicide. I seriously would throw only one punch against silva and that would be to setup a takedown.

Silva might be able to beat Fedor. Fedor is sorta small for a heavyweight and Silva has the stand up to do it. If Fedor got close enough to grapple it would be all over though.

The look on Hendo's face a few seconds before he tapped from that rear naked was like something out of a horror movie. - Q. |

The UFC does sometimes have catchweight fights, but according to rumors on the MMA boards, Silva was talking about possibly abandoning the middleweight title (185) and fighting more at light heavyweight (205). Not sure if he would be willing to fight fellow Brazilian Lyoto Machida for the light heavyweight title however. So he is going the wrong way to arrange a fight with GSP who fights at Welterweight (170 lbs).

I would love if that fight happens
