i'm a dog lover but the whole Michael Vick scandal is pretty bizarre - the dude went to jail for TWO YEARS, Donte Stallworth killed a man with his car driving drunk went to jail for ONE MONTH! everyday 99% of us eat dead animals, we just pay somebody else to imprison them and kill them. today tens of thousands of men will get up go out and kill animals and fish for sport. yet Vick is treated no better than your average serial killer because him and his hoodrat friends operated a dog fighting ring and killed the dogs who were no longer useful. And this is different than the world of thoroughbred horse racing and greyhound racing? The difference is that horse racing is a rich white man's industry. This is all cultural and socio-economic, rural people don't view dogs and cats the same way we do, I know people whose parents drowned kittens because the litter was too big by one of the farm cats. Dogs who get taken out behind the shed and killed because they are getting older and no longer useful.

We have elevated dogs and cats to surrogate human child status. Overall they're probably treated better than children.

Mark my words, one day the dog will win the right to vote. Once the dog gets it, the cat won't be too far behind.

Anything that might help prevent animal cruelty is a good thing in my opinion...

My dog votes for more treats.
My cat votes for more skin to tear up.

If 1 dog voted in the USA that would mean at least one inteligent creature in the USA gets to vote.

i don't view dog fighting as anything different from cock fighting or bull fighting. in many cultures those activities are entertainment.

Any kind of animal cruelty is bad... I think Michael Vick should be in jail for more then 2 years for killing those dogs, may he rot in hell ! You cannot compare this to any other kind of JailTime..

My dogs are my friend, they give me unconditional friendship and don't judge me for whatever reason possible.
