pills to increase concentration?

My diet pills are causing me to not be able to concentrate like I used to. Can I compensate for this in some way or do I have to go back to losing weight the hard way?

Someone told me ginseng helps concentration but I thought I should ask you guys ;)

one of my good friends got a prescrition for this in college and lost about 30lbs in a semester. i could swear, there was days when he wouldn't eat.

I saw him a few weeks ago at a bar close to my house and hes 2x the size he was before he started taking pills.
