How many of you actively work on "Positive Thoughts" ?

I am sitting at around 65% positive thoughts (without focusing) - 75% (when i focus on it).

If you don't know the importance of it, or never thought of it....i suggest you rent/grab an online download (via netflix) etc of a movie called "What the #$*! Do We (K)now!?". Info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399877/ (It's not rated very high but don't let that fool you, its full of good scientific information) A lot of stuff based on Quantum Mechanics. If you don't know what Q.M. is about, this film is a good place to start. It's like a more scientific version of "The Secret" sorta....but it came out years before that film.

So what % of your mind is focused on positive thoughts, instead of frustration, skepticism, worries, drama etc. If you had to guess :pimp

C H R I S 08-18-2009 08:43 AM

100% Positive thoughts

Tom_PM 08-18-2009 08:46 AM

You are what you eat!

No truer words :)

JerryF 08-18-2009 08:47 AM

As much as possible and I'm a firm believer in you get what you ask for. Worrying about shit, thinking about everything that can go wrong, etc... way more likely for shit to hit the fan. Try to keep negative thoughts out as much as possible and focus on believing good will come. Of course, still entertain some negative thoughts when brainstorming business ideas, but once I'm in I'm in.

Good thread, I'll have to rent that flick tonight.

Tube Ace 08-18-2009 08:49 AM

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check out that movie.

EscortBiz 08-18-2009 08:49 AM

have yet to meet anyone worth a damn that knows anything about this, all i know is hard work pays off, positive thinking will come when positive things happen, being in the shithole and thinking positive will send you buying anti depressants.

Since the movie the secret came out the whole world has gone to shit, over 10 million watched it, what happened to positive thinking? Think positive and it will happen.

Wonder what happens when you tell a collection agency to think and imagine as if the payment showed up and it will show up.

There is no solution to success other than working and even then you need to have some luck.

Everyone I know that has little post-it notes all over their office with motivational sayings is a broke, if they would spend as much time working as they do trying to find motivational sayings and going to motivational meetings maybe theyd have something.

Now on a side note I have no clue about the move your talking about but its all the same shit.

Best thing to do is be optimistic yet realistic and work your ass off.

Jim_Gunn 08-18-2009 08:56 AM

Pr0, I have never read any of these books like The Secret or any other mental outlook self-help books. But I do find that the mind and body are very much connected. For me exercising, and physical exertion along with a healthy lifestyle and diet are not only stress reducing but they create a very real effect on the way I think and how I look at things. Lifting weights works for me like what I imagine that meditation does for other people and unlike some of these purely mental exercises, creates a very real and measurable change in body and brain chemistry which helps make me feel positive and happy. Of course, everyone still has frustrations and moments of doubt but how one manages them is what counts.

PS- I read some of our other threads recently- very impressive stuff you have going on there! Any time you are coming back to South Florida or maybe at the next major trade show we should chat again.

First of all, i work 20 hours a day. So i know the value of hard work.

Secondly....

It's not all the same shit......the secret was horse shit, this movie (i suggested) discusses the most popular scientific theory to date imo. (Quantum Mechanics)

If you've spent your whole life thinking you "I can't do it" & work 20 hours a day, chances are you're right.

I'll put it in terms you might understand though (in your way of thinking).
Sometimes stuff like this is the little "push" someone needs to become more open minded & thus more creative.....creating that new "angle" their 20 hours of work a day really needed to "pop".

Brujah 08-18-2009 08:59 AM

Loved the movie, and hearing some out of the box opinions from various intellectuals. I believe in the power of positive thinking.

undersoul 08-18-2009 09:06 AM

that was a very cool movie. eye opening. staying positive is the ONLY way to be.

Serge Litehead 08-18-2009 09:14 AM

besides hard work, positive outlook on life is very important.
if your mind is ghetto - eventually you will end up living in one.

Jman 08-18-2009 09:15 AM

I been meditating and practicing positive thinking since I moved back to Montreal and although some huge depressing shit happened I keep the head up and stay positive all the time.

I am also surrounded by positive people only so that helps as well ;-)

Rochard 08-18-2009 09:15 AM

I'm always positive. I don't get mad or angry. Why bother. Life is way too short for that kind of shit. I avoid drama too.

art914 08-18-2009 09:18 AM

nope never thought about it... i do agree that the power of the mind, how you think of yourself and of other matters, do affect your health and outcome more so than we know.

however, i agree with escortbiz that most of the time it doesnt matter how much positive thinking you do, without getting off your butt and actually do real work, you cant get anything "positive" in return.

Agent 488 08-18-2009 09:19 AM

would be better off spending half and hour meditating every day.

I agree, I Like to be POSITIVE:thumbsup:thumbsup

JerryF 08-18-2009 09:25 AM

Of course you have to bust your ass, too. But negative thinking drains your energy (at least i feel that way on days when is everything black). You lose nothing by being positive. I think most would agree you lose something by being negative.

OrangeContent 08-18-2009 09:28 AM

Everything I have written down and worked towards has come true. 100%.

Elements of the secret plus hard work = success.

Now I'm still waiting on making $10,000 a month (about halfway there now), and that's not even with adult - side hobby.

tranza 08-18-2009 09:32 AM

I think i'm very positive...but sometimes i get pissed off!

Honez 08-18-2009 09:33 AM

I have the follow up to that called "What the Bleep? Down the Rabbit Hole" Quantum Edition. It is full of good stuff and I can watch it over and over and catch things I haven't caught before.

notime 08-18-2009 09:35 AM

Positive always, except on a bad hair day once in a while.
Good movies you mentioned. Did you see part 2 also?

For GFY readers:
The Secret is a must see for all that have not seen it yet and want to make their lives more positive and your business more productive and pleasant.

rhon23 08-18-2009 10:03 AM

I stay pretty positive. Today sucks pretty bad but it will get better.

StaceyJo 08-18-2009 10:06 AM

Positive thinker all the way. :)

Slappin Fish 08-18-2009 10:10 AM

I function better when I have negative thoughts. :2 cents:

When I think positive I am not very efficient I lack the urgency.

If google tanks some of my sites and I start thinking it is the end of the world (even if it is a tiny percentage of my income) you watch me go, I'll get more done in the following 72 hours than I had in the previous 6 months.

Fighting for survival.

DonovanTrent 08-18-2009 10:12 AM

I try to be complete positive thinking, but you do have to back it up with solid work. But I find that having a positive outlook while bogged down with tons of work at least gives you the feeling of a light at the end of the tunnel, like it does suck that you have to do all this work, but it will have a productive outcome.

Slappin Fish 08-18-2009 10:30 AM

Some people achieve because they want to win others because they hate to lose.

I really think it is about understanding your character and how you function rather than forcing positive thoughts upon yourself.

My humble 2 cents. It's not "thinking". It's believing. There is a gigantic wall that separates believing from merely thinking. And if you need scientific proof, you can't believe. Believing happens on a different realm. But nothing will make you more money than rational thinking when you can see what the crowd can't. In the end, making money is always an arbitrage thing... Luck, *the opportunity*, comes after.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 08-18-2009 10:58 AM

I try to stay positive, I give positive advice, but hardly take it myself :(

Nicky 08-18-2009 11:46 AM

I try to keep positive and have positive thoughts, usually It's works too. I am almost never sad or negative. But I do need to involve in more hard work :)

One of my favorite quotes:

?I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitude is right, there is no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.?

I used to have a Mantra I lived by:

I have no time for negativity and negative people/vibes. Life is way to fucking short...

Somwhere along the line I lost that ....but I have recaptured..

bdld 08-18-2009 06:00 PM

you create your own world, it's amazing how many things i think about and "magically" they happen.

Well said!:thumbsup Its about controlling your outlook & how you feel.

I must have seen "What the bleep do we know?" at least 5 or 6 times. There is definitely truth in that movie. Once I saw it, its just been a consistent thing for me to work on daily. It fuels growth and knowledge of self when you realize how much control of your own reality you really have. Positive thinking is only the beginning. You really have to 'feel' what you want. Its not just thoughts, its the energy you put into your thoughts/feelings. :2 cents: :2 cents:

Thanks for the reminder pro, I have been re-focusing on the positive energy staying up and negative staying out of my head. Sometimes it snowballs when you are bummin out. I have to check out your recommendation. Don't hate on The Secret, I liked it very much and it really turned things around for me. Maybe it's good for a jump start and yours brings it home ftw. great thread
