What % of SPONSORS are totally USELESS would you guess?
I'd put it at perhaps 1 in 10 sponsors are actually worth promoting.
That's going from personal experience judging by my statsremote. Outdated tours, half-ass promo tools, boring sites that dont convert/rebill, sporadic updates, 0-fer stats (as in 0:3000) - the list goes on and on. Sometimes I get the feeling some sponsors are just trying to trick me into putting up links to their site and don't really intend on sharing the wealth. Thats why when I do find a sponsor that does it right I am all over them like cumshots on a slut - while my accounts with other sponsors just collect dust in their database. :2 cents: The latest sponsor I am impressed with is RevShareIt. Nice sites and even better affiliate management... I am looking forward to sending them lots of sales. If you know of a kickass affiliate program worthy of GFY's attention, please post it in this thread and I will sign up if I so fancy. :thumbsup Hi CunningStunt :) |
Siggin ze Spottin.

Same good be the other way for percentage of useless people promoting programs. From what some program owners say, more money is wanted for less work as the increased laziness of webmasters grows.

Hard to say, I only sign up with programs I have the intention to allocate time to and promote actively, so it's pretty much all of them. I did do a project a few years ago which was to dump the content from about 40 new sponsors across a network of sites, and only 3 of them made regular sales. |

Another reason i have been pulling sponsors lately traffic leaks one program would launch adult friend finder add every time you click join on the console free tours lol. But i cant say its all been bad the more i clean house with shitty sponsors the more i send to good sponsors = more money at the end of the day. :thumbsup |

1. I sign up with just about every program that has a decent site to promote. You never know til you throw some links up right? 2. I add their links to my various linklists to give them a chance & to see if they sell. 3. If and when they start bringing in sales from linklists then I make dedicated blog postings about the sites that sell. 3. If they continue to do well then I would do some specific SEO work for them. 4. If that goes well & there is long-term potential then I build a "destination site" for that sponsor. A site where potential members looking for that sponsor's porn can surf and enjoy and hopefully bookmark or sign up. Sadly most sponsors dont make it out of step 2. |
i dont know who to blame.. cos the sponsors have done the best they can.
there is only so much you can do when it comes to selling a tour. people just arent buyin |

Yes, it's important to do some housecleaning once in a while and pull unproductive links. I wish more sponsors would fess up and announce when a site is no longer being updated - but of course they won't say anything - and quietly let you keep sending traffic to a dead site. :disgust |
