Pepsi Max must be a totally different product in the UK.

Sosa 08-20-2009 06:47 AM

I haven't had one for a while but I thought it tasted pretty good.

Jman 08-20-2009 06:53 AM

No one should fight with their body and mind that needs rest, very unhealthy.

If you need to rest take a nap, the world can wait a couple of hours and your health should be way more important then a couple of more joins :2 cents:

Had a good talk about that with a personal trainer and he says he spends wayyy more energy then most people but naps 2-3 times a day for no more then 20 minutes and sleeps 6-7 hours every night and is in the best shape of his life at 42 and never as the feeling of being to tired.

Don't know about pepsi, but coke has way more sugar and cafeine in the US than in EU.

Some years ago I talked with a guy that served on a US military base on Azores and he said that a lot of they're products are different, same brand name but other taste, most of the times US imported products has much more quantity of sugar/salt and other ingredients.
:2 cents:

Sarah_Jayne 08-20-2009 07:29 AM

No actually a different product. Over here, Pepsi Max is a long established lower sugar version of Pepsi. Sort of like Coke Zero before Coke Zero was around.

As far as taste goes..yeah that happens too. When I first moved to the UK Dr. Pepper was a totally different taste. I loved it back home but hated it here. A few years later they relaunched it with the US taste.

XD2 08-20-2009 07:36 AM

Go through about 2 litres a day :-\ switched from regular pepsi because there is no sugar in Max :)

Cyber Fucker 08-20-2009 07:46 AM

Ok, I am going to buy it :thumbsup

tranza 08-20-2009 07:46 AM

DaddyHalbucks 08-20-2009 03:09 PM

If I want that, I will pop NODOZ.

Jarmusch 08-20-2009 03:38 PM

i live off that stuff, 69mg of caffeine per can :upsidedow

DonovanTrent 08-20-2009 04:21 PM

I can have zero Diet Coke for a week, or 4 7-11 Double Gulps (64 ounces each) in one day, and I notice no difference in the way I feel. Am I immune to caffeine?

Edited to note: One thing I do notice is a slight increase in urination.

Vjo 08-20-2009 04:57 PM

Hard to believe but true.. I drank nothing but diet coke from about 1982 till about 2002. No water as bottled spring water wasn't around really then. And although I have good tap water, just didn't drink it. Use to have a 12 pack even in the car at all times.

Anyhow eventually I started to taste arsenic inside me. I swear. I looked into it and this is one of the by products (so they say, I am no expert) of what happens when your body (liver) converts and tries to metabalize aspartame.

Anyhow I drink nothing but spring water now. With either a Corona or St Pauli Girl before bed. And feel great.

Crazy huh. But in those days we didn't know. Kind of like all the guys who ate tons of margerine before they found out hydrogenated oil is prob the worst thing of anything to eat.

rowan 08-20-2009 05:06 PM

Caffeine doesn't seem to affect my alertness levels, but if I drink too much then I feel like absolute shit the next day...

Vjo 08-20-2009 05:06 PM

Actually I also drink good old rural Minnesota tap which is still good (in small towns or rural areas that haven't been clorinated)

Lugging home bottled water is much less since I decided tap wasn't so bad. :winkwink:

A little trick for those mornings you dont feel like getting up but must.. pop 3 Anacin 1 and 1/2 hours b4 getting up. (Go back to bed) You'll awake with 105 mgs of caffiene in your system and that extra big piece of cake you ate before bed wont be nausiating you so much. :)

Plus its good for thinning the blood. But warning it is a bit addicting. BTW it's getting tougher to find good old Anacin any more which is just coated aspirin and caffiene.

A fresh brewed cup of Columbian jo has about 120 mg in a mere 6 oz.

So your drinking what 24 oz vs my 6. Plus all that sugar or aspartame . Take your pick: dental bills or god knows what from aspartame :)

Shout out to Papa Nicholas coffee out of Chicago. The best coffee for the buck in these parts. And Ive tried the best. Starbucks for example isnt even in Papa's league. But only in the midwest I think.

have you heard about Coke's new milk-based drink, Vio..

skim milk, sparking water, flavored with fruit (peach mango, berry, citrus or tropical colada) and sweetened with cane sugar.

Fizzy fruity milk....

I'll pass.

It's been about 9-10 months since I went off caffeine. I don't miss it now, but it was different in the beginning.
