Video Editing Hardware Specs ( PC ) users

What are your video editing hardware specs? I have a $3,20000 VAIO with 6 GB RAM and 600 GB internal hard drive even has a built in Blue Ray burner but this dam thing still seems to drag

What are your specs ( I use adobe products )

I'm just a one woman show, but my main rig which is also my render box is a Q6600 with 8GB RAM on 2 WD black 500GB drives running Vistax64. It drags a bit, but I tell ya it's night and day from when I was on 4GB of RAM and my old shitty ASUS mobo.

1.5GB processor
1GB Ram

$300 netbook :p

It actually works really well with Pinnacle Studio. I even edit HD vids on it. But then again, I only do cuts and transitions mostly. Only problem is rendering takes forever and it rarely crashes. But when it crashes all my work gets automatically saved.

EDIT: Christ that's embarrassing!

i7 Intel CPU
Intel Board Intel X58
Asus Radeon 4870 - 512 MB DDR5
Kingston ValueRAM 6GB (3x2GB) PC16000 - DDR3
Plazir 600 Watt PSU - 120 mm Fan
2 x Seagate 500gb
Win7 64bit

The mashine was build for gaming, but ended up using it for Win7 tests and encoding.

It was not build for editing or encoding, but it does it well, and I dont want to plug in the old IBM Workstations with Hardware Encoding cards, because this is good enough for the Youtube quality videos I need.

Cost to build 6500,- DKr. = around $1250,-

I'm running Adobe Premiere CS4 on the following:

Intel Core I7 CPU
Asus P6T motherboard
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) RAM
EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 Video Card - Retail
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit for System Builders - OEM
4 x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black HD
LG Blu-ray Burner - Retail
LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Support - OEM
CORSAIR 1000W Power Supply - Retail

Total cost at New Egg was under $2K. Editing is no longer a chore. This machine screams.
