Starting a Tube on Virtual Hosting...

Risky or go for it? Ideally it would grow to need of dedicated plan. Whos a good host for this situation?

Hi Tony, we have some terrific VPS plans for you to grow your tube site with, and as it becomes larger we can accommodate you with a solid dedicated server and great bandwidth rates.

We offer 2 months free for 6-month prepaid VPS or shared accounts, and 3 months free for 12-month prepaid accounts.

Get in touch with me through ICQ (418194907) or email ([email protected]) and we can talk shop. :thumbsup

Depends on whether or not you plan on uploading, converting and hosting the videos yourself or using sponsor hosted content. If you want to run one of the scripts that allows uploads, converts and hosts the videos it is better to go with a dedicated server.

there is alot to be said for those "annoying to the surfer" type slow loading tubesites that are strictly sponsor hosted and running on underpowered or overextended servers so that the surfers tend to get so exasperated when trying to watch anything that there is a 50/50 chance they might just click on an ad to get the hell out of there (or just leave for good)

not a great way to set up a site for retention of the surfer or repeat visitors or any kind of surfer to surfer recommendations to your site, and I think some might put them in the same category as splogs when it comes to link trading with too :upsidedow

Ok it would be sponsor hosted but i did want to allow uploads at some point..

That's how I started mine... You'll be fine. Why pay for what you don't need yet? ..unless you got it like that.

Porn Grounds 08-23-2009 07:05 PM

Yeah, there is no reason to shell out the dough for a dedi unless you need it. Plus upgrading down the line really *shouldn't* be an issue....if you are with a good company ;)

Ivan Fuckalot 08-23-2009 07:11 PM

Who is tube anyway? :)

Pay attention tonyparra, really ....
Sponsor hosted requires very very little, full facility requires much much more.
