Given how he did last year and that he's always been pretty decent, he's probably worth it but damn - we need to win a Super Bowl for fuck's sake. If Tomlinson's career comes and goes without a Chargers Super Bowl win, that'd be a fuckin' travesty.

When he was playing at NC State I lived right across from him. Talked to him a handful of times about BS and initially had no idea who he was since I could care less about college ball at the time. A very modest guy, a beautiful wife and a baby girl.

One day I had the cable guy over to fix something and he said 'hey do you ever hang out with Rivers?' I was like 'what are you talking about'... When he explained I was pretty surprised because I knew his full name from the papers, he was definitely a rock star in Raleigh during his college years. But he had never once mentioned anything about playing ball.

After that it all made sense to me why on random weekends we would wake up and see signs planted on the grounds saying things like 'Congrats Philip' or 'Nice Job Rivers'... lol

He deserves it! Brees is still better, IMO.

Yea I kinda think so too. In fact it's kind of unfortunate that Brees took as long as he did to solidify himself as we probably wouldn't have traded Manning for Rivers but instead for high caliber players in other positions. God, if we had a high quality WR alongside Gates at TE with Brees at QB the past few years, perhaps we could already have the Bowl we should have had by now.

Yup. He's overrated. Brees is a much better QB, but lacks the "star" hype -- he just gets the job done.
