Evony is an addictive Civilization-type game that's growing explosively recently.

However, it also appears to have grown to its current size due to its aggressive use of porn-like ads like these:

I remember seeing the second banner somewhere and getting a laugh out of it. The girl isn't even in a costume or anything, it's just some stock photo of hot girl...lol.

But it proves one rule of marketing. When all else fails, just slap a pretty girl on it. :thumbsup

why because mainstream cant separate for adults from fucking LOL

That's not why it has lots of traffic. The reason is because it's free. Even total shit games (like that one) will get tons of traffic if it's free.

The banners started out much tamer, too.

There's other free RTS games that are free but they don't have as much traction as Evony. I guess they are really serious about reinvesting whatever money they make selling game items and accelerated building time.:2 cents:
