Tribune Co. has signed a deal to sell a 95 percent interest in the Chicago Cubs to the Ricketts family for $845 million. The deal includes Wrigley Field and Tribune's interest in Comcast SportsNet.

845 million is an insane amount of money for a baseball team but it's only about half the price the Yankees spent on their new stadium 1.5 billion.

It also includes Wrigley Field not just the ball team. Also this is the Cubs who have a HUGE national fanbase and is a team that's been around for over 125 years.

They filed for bankruptcy to get the deal to go through quicker. This has been a two year ongoing battle to try to get the sale done. The Cubs don't lose money but other parts of Tribune CO. sure do.
