The Footprints of God (Greg Isles) - anyone read it?

Just finished reading Greg Isles "The Footprints of God".

I couldn't help thinking it reminded me of "Demon Seed" Dean Koontz - the supercomputer that becomes self-aware and goes psycho.

Interesting premise, though - developing superMRI technology and loading a molecular-level perfect duplicate of a person's brain into a supercomputer.

Given the monthly advances in computer technology at the consumer level - I sometimes wonder what supercomputer technology with advanced capabilities the NSA and military has tucked away that no one knows.

No, I don't read anything on paper anymore. Can I download it?

I read it a few years ago. I like his books and I liked that one right up until the end then I thought it had kind of a corny resolution.

Probably, but it has big words - you'll need a highspeed IP and someone to explain the words. :1orglaugh

Yeah, I thought the same about the ending. Kind've lame - I was waiting for a big twist.

I doubt that. I have one of the fastest connections you can get and a large vocabulary.

Reminded me of the single molecule pictured for the first time by IBM.

Not to mention reading on a laptop in the bath/jacuzzi would get interesting. :1orglaugh

Exactly the stuff I was getting at. :thumbsup

I really wonder how far off some of these sci-fi concepts really are.

Geeks are finding new ways to have the last laugh these days.
